voco Seoul Myeongdong by IHG

We had a wonderful stay at Voco Myeongdong Hotel. A special thank you to Yuri Choi, who was exceptionally attentive, professional, and always willing to help. She made us feel genuinely welcome and helped make our stay smooth and enjoyable. The hotel is also in a great location, with a lively market right across the street for souvenirs and local food. Highly recommended!

Stayed here for 2 nights. The location is extraordinarily good, right across from Namdaemun, and within “walking distance” of Seoul Station. I had 2 large suitcases and ran around looking for an elevator because I didn’t want to bother crossing the bus station to get to Seoul Station. Honestly though, just cross the bus area, the first elevator I found was out of service, but luckily there was another one masquerading as a hotel elevator. Unless you really want some weight training, just cross the road. The Lotte supermarket at the station is absolutely amazing, so if you need to buy any last minute snacks and gifts, go for it. Also, if you need vacuum bags the Daiso on the second floor of the Lotte supermarket has it. Not the other, smaller Daiso outside the station.

But I digress. Anyway, the service is excellent and friendly. I particularly enjoyed chatting with one of the concierge about Maplestory, because I had just bought a Pink Bean plushie from the Maplestory pop up store. It’s enjoyable to meet people who share the same interests.

Design was nice. One thing is this isn’t a Chase Edit hotel, so no perks. Fitness center kinda small. The most convenient part of this hotel was the convenience store directly connected on the first floor.

All in all, a nice stay and I would recommend.

Location is the best ! Just next to station and opposite Namdaemun Market. Walking to Myeongdong just 5-10 mins away

I got upgraded to Mountain View and See N Seoul tower

The size is useful for Family visitor and hotel is super quiet at night.

And with double lock in the room is very safety for solo as well.

I had a wonderful time at Voco Seoul. It is within walking distance to all places of interest and right opposite the market. What I definitely love about this hotel are its staff and the location. People are very friendly and helpful. Like to compliment Minu Sun at the front desk for volunteering to help mail out my postcard. I am really at a lost as the post office is closed and I am not sure where is the nearest letter box. 🥲 His kind assurance set my mind at ease. Ps I make it a tradition to send a postcard for every oversea trip I make.

We have always enjoyed the vibrant and modern setup of the Voco hotels. The pricing is consistently reasonable, especially considering the location, accessibility, and high standard of service. Voco Seoul Myeongdong definitely keeps that streak alive!

The staff speaks good English and goes above and beyond to be helpful. Inside, the rooms are spacious and clean. A major plus is there is a well-stocked convenience store and Twosome Place Cafe located right in the hotel lobby.

It helps that the Airport Limousine bus drop directly in front of the hotel!

Highly recommended and we’ll be back!

Good location. It was near a subway station and bus stop. It's within walking distance of Nandaemun market too. The room we stayed at was clean and decent. Interiors looked luxurious. I will definitely stay here again in my next visit to Seoul.

Mixed feelings about this hotel. Check in is always an "adventure" , especially if one arrive at a busy time. Can take quite some time, even if you're a diamond member. Staff not overly nice to be honest.
Rooms are good. Lounge is good even though very busy at times.
Breakfast, barely OK. Selection is actually quite good but it's usually incredibly busy. Also, some items (i e bread) is often stale. Asian items usually good. Given the room rate it's simply not enough. Coffee machines, just 2 is not enough at busy times (one is often broken as well). Overall the hotel is quite nice. BUT there is room for improvement. For example, please open the lounge for breakfast for higher tier members to avoid the stress from the restaurant breakfast, I'm more than fine with a smaller selection.
Lobby area is huge, add more check in desks, it's cleraly needed.
Location is very good but please address the issues I know that others are complaining about.
