ibis Styles Ambassador Seoul Myeongdong

I stayed at ibis Styles Ambassador Seoul Myeongdong in October 2025 and had a very positive experience.
The room was small, but very well designed, very comfortable, with everything I needed for my stay.
The bed was particularly comfortable, which made a big difference after long days exploring the city.
The staff were excellent. There was always someone available at reception, and everyone I interacted with was helpful, polite, and considerate.
One thing I really appreciated was how quiet the rooms were. Despite being in a central location, I slept very well throughout my stay.
Breakfast was another highlight. The selection was great, and the view from the breakfast terrace was absolutely lovely! A perfect way to start the day.
The location is also ideal. It's within walking distance of many main attractions, including N Seoul Tower, which made getting around very easy.
I would definitely recommend this hotel and would happily stay here.

Stayed at ibis Styles Ambassador Seoul Myeongdong and had a pleasant experience overall. The hotel is fuss-free and very convenient for exploring Myeongdong, with easy access to shopping streets, restaurants and tour pick-up points nearby.

I also appreciated that the hotel respected my requests both through email before arrival and again at the counter during check-in. The staff were consistently polite, friendly and helpful, and communication was easy as they spoke English well.

My room had a nice view and was surprisingly quiet despite the central location. Housekeeping was prompt every day and kept the room very clean throughout the stay. I liked that the toilet and bathroom areas were separated, which made it more convenient when sharing the room. Laundry room at b1 was easy to operate and managed

The room itself is on the smaller side, which is fairly common in Seoul, but everything felt modern, clean and well maintained. Overall, a comfortable and convenient stay for anyone planning to spend time around Myeongdong.

We really enjoyed our stay at Ibis Styles in Myengdong. The hotel is modern, the rooms are compact (which is fine because it's not like we came to south korea to hang out at the hotel room 24/7) and extremely clean. The bed is very comfortable. We went to the breakfast and we enjoyed it. It has the common continental offerings but with a few south korean options, which is great. We used the sauna/spa on the top floor twice and we really liked to be able to relax in the hot water and hot sauna after a long day exploring. Staff was very nice and helpful. We absolutely loved the neighbourhood and how close it is to so many cool things. We will definitely be staying here for our next visit to south korea!

Pros:
Location is very close to Myeongdong station, Insadong and other tourist spots, very convenient.

Toilets in the room were really nice - heated seats, bidet and blow dry etc.

Staff were friendly.

Cons:
Be warned - all double rooms face directly onto the wall of the building opposite, less than 2m away, in some cases onto ventilation grates. This is not as advertised on booking.com which has outdated pictures showing a city view. We complained and were moved to a twin room with a city view.

Rooms are very small, we could only just open our large suitcase.

The aircon in our room didn't work at all, it was either off, or full blast, nothing in between. They sent an engineer but it didn't work properly for our whole stay.

Breakfast was truly terrible, I know it's a budget hotel but usually I'm able to constuct something to eat. Here I struggled every morning, honestly one of the worst I've experienced. Also they have one tiny window in the breakfast area, and two huge TVs showing BBC news which I really didn't like - I'm on holiday I don't want to see war scenes on a massive screen at breakfast. When I asked to change the channel they looked at me like I was talking ancient greek.

Overall I would not stay again or recommend this hotel.

Good hotel in a great location for exploring Seoul.
Rooms are clean & comfortable with all amenities you need. Beds are comfy and big & en suite was spacious with a good shower. Friendly helpful staff and daily housekeeping is available if you want it. Access to microwave & a laundry room which is super helpful. They also stored my case for 3 weeks while I travelled which was great.
The hotel location has easy access to several subway lines so travelling around Seoul was super easy. Get a WOW card at any station & all public transport is then easy, just tap on/off.
Myeongdong is a busy area with loads to do & see, shopping, markets and great street food. (Go slightly off the main drags for better prices in restaurants & street food)
I would recommend Ibus Styles and will stay here again on my next trip

The hotel is in a super convenient location right next to Myeong-dong station and the shopping area. Its also very close to the Namsan Tower. All the local sights are also very close by. The breakfast spread was quite good. Staff are very polite and helpful and the rooms are clean, spacious and very nice to come back to after a long day.

They also have a convenient microwave on the ground floor and laundry as well
