Courtyard by Marriott Seoul Myeongdong

Stayed two nights at this Courtyard, it was superb.

Literally all staff at this Courtyard are fabulous, always on hand to help and super friendly. Front desk staff are professional and smooth at check-in. They also offer complimentary Korean ice cream at lobby area for hotel guests. Concierge and Momo cafe staff are great. Good variety of breakfast food selections at Momo cafe.

Rooms are spacious and spotlessly clean. Well equipped and maintained. Beds are very comfy.

This hotel is conveniently located in central district of Seoul city, walking distance to Myeongdong shopping area and just few mins taxi ride to historical sites. Hotel also offer complimentary shuttle bus service between Seoul station (high-speed rail). Airport limousine bus stop (bus no.6001) is about 3-5 mins easy walk from the hotel.

Will definitely stay here again for us next trip to Seoul. Good job Courtyard Myeongdong!

A beautiful place is one that instantly brings peace to the heart and calmness to the mind. Surrounded by natural beauty, fresh air, and peaceful surroundings, it feels like a little piece of paradise on earth. The scenery is so captivating that every view looks like a painting, and the atmosphere is so soothing that all stress and worries simply fade away. Such places have a special charm that makes you want to stay there forever, as if time has slowed down just to let you enjoy the beauty and silence around you.

Great hotel, good location 8 mins walk from myeongdong, lots of late food options, opposite the market.

Breakfast is good but do go early as there wil be a lot of people and the wait to get in will be long.

Rooms and service is great. Will come back again

I had a fantastic time at Courtyard by Marriott Seoul Namdaemun and would recommend anyone reading this, particularly families, to stay here.

The rooms are modern, spacious (for Seoul) and clean. The breakfast buffet is fantastic, with a really good spread of Korean and Western dishes. The hotel staff are extremely friendly, welcoming and efficient. There is also self-service laundry at the basement of the hotel, which is great for families with small children or those with a longer stay.

There are many tourist sites including Myeongdong, Shinsaegae Department Store, Cheonggyecheon Stream, Deoksugong Palace and Gyeongbukgong Palace, that are accessible by foot. Namdaemun Market is also just opposite the hotel.

Only complaint would be that the public transport options are not the best but it is good enough with Lines 1, 2 and 4 accessible, along with many bus stops around.

Great great property!! The rooms are fabulous, the staff was good. Loved the bag weighing and size measuring machine in the lobby which can be very useful. They offer shuttle service which is great. The breakfast at Momo Cafe was fabulous

Had a very pleasant stay at Courtyard Marriott Myeongdong. I had an unexpected situation with my flight, and the reservation team were incredibly helpful and understanding, which made a stressful situation much easier.

A special thank you to Wendy and her manager, and a big shout-out to Aiden at the front desk — so sweet and welcoming. The morning catering staff were also wonderful. Everyone was warm, professional, and attentive.

I would definitely recommend this hotel and will be staying here again on my next visit to Seoul.

We recently completed a wonderful 7-night stay at the Courtyard by Marriott Seoul Namdaemun (Myeongdong), and it exceeded our expectations in every way.

​Exceptional First Impression
​From the moment we arrived, we felt truly welcomed. I want to give a special shout-out to the lady at the front desk who handled our check-in. She was professional, efficient, and incredibly kind, setting a positive tone for our entire week-long stay.

​The Room: A Shopper’s Dream
​As anyone visiting Seoul knows, the shopping is world-class. We were so grateful for the spacious room we were assigned. Having ample floor space was a lifesaver, as it allowed us to comfortably organize and pack our many purchases without feeling cramped.

​Breakfast & Service
​The daily buffet breakfast was a highlight. Not only was the food delicious and varied, but the restaurant staff were super nice and attentive. Their warm hospitality every morning made us feel right at home.

​Location, Location, Location
​You simply cannot beat the location. Being so close to Myeongdong and major transit points made exploring the city and returning with shopping bags incredibly easy.

A four-star hotel indeed.

Rooms - The room was pretty good (observable old scars but can see they made attempts to improve the place). I appreciated the in-room water filter which allowed for free flow of drinkable water, spacious shower, smart TV, and some extra room (as we booked the larger room). However, I was a tad disappointed with the view (or lack of) as I was expected to have some view of N Seoul Tower. With reference to the picture, we stayed at the '05' and was blocked by the building next to us. I believe you would have a better chance of a view at the '22' to '29' rooms, or the '01' to '03' rooms. Nonetheless, it was still a pleasant room to stay in.

Service - Was good as staff were professional and polite.

Location - Was a good location which made it easy for us to get around via train and navigate during our five-day stay in Seoul. It was convenient being opposite Namdaemun Market as we frequented it. There was a BHC (Korean fried chicken joint) just below as well if you are a fan of that. Saw many restaurants and a convenience stall nearby as well.
