Foret Village House

我抵达当天才知道会被安排到附属建筑。真希望预订前就知道这一点。

这里有很多坡路，带着行李走很不方便。

房间不错，空间也足够宽敞，可以打开行李箱走动。

房间里有厨房、微波炉、洗衣机和一个大冰箱。

我住了两晚，他们应要求更换了毛巾。浴室和厕所在同一个房间里，所以比较潮湿。

Had a pleasant stay here! It was very reasonably priced for the area and it still felt safe later at night even though it's a quieter residential area (there are still convenience stores and restaurants nearby though). The staff were very kind and checking in and out was convenient. I was also able to store my luggage in their secure lockers before check in since I arrived early in the morning. We booked a room for 2 people and it was nice having a small kitchen, full sized fridge with freezer, and a washing machine. The room was very clean. I would say the one downside was that we were on the 4th floor with no elevator, so those travelling with heavy luggage or those with mobility issues may want to consider this point.

I’m a repeat guest at Foret Guesthouse, and there’s a reason for that.

The staff here genuinely goes the extra mile. On my first trip to South Korea, my original plan was to stay two weeks in one location, then move around Seoul to explore different neighborhoods. As often happens while traveling, plans changed fast, and suddenly I needed to find a new place to stay during peak holiday travel season.

Finding availability anywhere decent was difficult. Foret Guesthouse had the best ratings I could find in the area I needed, but online booking sites like Booking.com and Agoda showed little to no availability. I decided to call directly, and thankfully the staff spoke English.

They worked things out creatively and managed to piece together a three-week stay for me during one of the busiest travel periods. I only had to switch rooms once for a single day. They made a stressful situation easy and got me comfortably settled for the remainder of my stay.

What stood out immediately was how attentive and consistently helpful the staff was — not just with me, but with all guests. Every interaction was pleasant, and the property is exceptionally clean. Anytime I saw staff members, they were cleaning, organizing, or helping someone.

The biggest difference for me was the quiet.

Before staying here, I had been near the Apple Gangnam / Kyobo Tower area, where the noise never stops. Restaurants stay open late, and at any hour you hear singing, yelling, fighting, traffic, or crowds outside. Getting proper sleep there was nearly impossible.

At Foret Guesthouse, the difference was night and day. I could finally rest properly, which honestly helped my recovery more than I expected.

The location is one of the best balances I’ve found in Seoul: quiet and peaceful, while still being only a block or two away from convenience stores, restaurants, pharmacies, cafes, shopping, and pretty much everything you need.

The subway is about a 5–6 minute walk depending on your pace, and bus stops are even closer.

The shared amenities are also excellent:

Full kitchen

Large shared refrigerator and freezer

Purified water dispenser

Espresso machine

Electric kettle

Microwave

Toaster

Stove, cookware, dishes, and utensils

Complimentary hot beverages and instant foods available throughout the day

The kitchen/common area is open from 8 AM to 8 PM.

They also provide umbrellas for rainy days, which is one of those small details that becomes very appreciated when traveling.

The rooms themselves are spacious by Seoul standards. You can control your own floor heating temperature, the rooms have windows for ventilation, blackout shades for sleeping, and enough space to fully open luggage without feeling cramped. There are lockers, hangers, shoe storage, and wardrobe-style organization that actually make long stays comfortable.

And for what you get, the pricing is extremely reasonable.

So yes — even while continuing to explore different parts of Seoul, I now use Foret Guesthouse as my base camp whenever I return.

One night here is honestly enough to understand why people come back.

It’s my last day as a guest at Foret Guesthouse/ Ryu Guesthouse in Gangnam-gu Seoul.

It’s been an absolute pleasure staying at my appartments (201).
My Adelaide legs couldn’t handle a lot of the hills Seoul has. Thankfully Foret guesthouse is on flat ground!! So easy and convenient to get around with suitcases! Especially if you’re considering having surgery, you don’t want to have to walk up inclines.
I am female traveler, completely solo. I was wary about going alone and walking the streets alone. But the area is really safe! CCTV cameras everywhere. The people in the surrounding busines were very friendly. Actually smiled (which isn’t custom here) I forgot to bring a bag to the store and someone offered me there’s when I started dropping items.
It’s a friendly area, school near by, parks, lots of convenience stores, right between two train stations which were surprisingly easy to use to get around. I grew up in Sydney, I’m use to trains but the system here is very easy.

The owner of Foret Guest House is very Kind,
Very friendly, easily approachable, he is always around and helping other guests. Always asking if you need anything, if you’re alright. (No creepy vibes)

The apartment was so CLEAN!
I got bored binge watching tv while I was recovering from surgery. I tired to clean for something to do…but there was nothing to clean, not a speck of dust, the cutlery draw impeccable! The microwave spotless and even the lint filters in the washing machine, clean.

I would highly recommend staying here at Foret Guesthouse/ Ryu Guesthouse if you’re:
Traveling solo,
Traveling solo as a female
Travelling as a family/group
Travelling for surgery
Traveling with heavy luggage
Don’t like climbing steep/ hills or inclines
Like safe neighbourhoods
Like friendly manager/staff
Like the easy ability to get around.
(Airport bus stops less then 10minute walk to forest guest house..making it even more affordable)
Then this is the place for you. My visit has been great and I would definitely stay here again if/when I return.

Good:
1.Quiet residency area.
2.Tidy room with kitchen and laundry machine.
3.Prompt reply from the nice host.
4.5 mins walk to CU 24hrs convenient store.

Bad:
1.10 mins walk to bus 15 min walk to subway. (With 100m hill)
2. No elevator.
3. It might change the check-in address before the day you arrive.

It's a quiet place tucked in a small street. The rooms are clean and spacious, with a nice modern "wet" bathroom. We never use the kitchen or the common space, but it's available for meal prep and dining. The staff helped with bags as there was no elevator in the building. The location is fantastic, surrounded by trendy bars and posh restaurants and shopping. It's a great location, centrally located, just a short cab or train ride to all locations in Seoul. It's about 45 to 1-hour drive to the Incheon airport. You could arrange a ride to the airport with the staff, better priced than a regular Uber—definitely a good value.
