Big John's Place

I stayed here during my Korean solo trip back in 2022 and I loved the place. The host was super caring and helpful, the place was tidy, clean and safe, the people I met at the Hostel I still keep in contact til' today, and it was one of the highlights of my Korean Trip.

I truly recommend this place to any solo travellers that come to Korea. It is settled in a prime location so travelling to anywhere else is easy and accessible.

Small note though; you do have to wash the sheets yourself but the washing machine, as well as the cleaning necessities are fully available. Just ask the host on how to use them!

房东会说日语、英语和中文，这真的太方便太让人放心了！我本来是去做面部护理的，结果发现他们家居然有冰箱、冰柜、微波炉、热水壶，甚至还有食物（面包、鸡蛋、牛奶、果汁、拉面），所以我意识到我只需要从日本带衣服和内衣就行了！我在那里住了大概两周，简直太棒了！如果我再来日本，我肯定还想住在这里！真的太开心了！！！！

We planned on staying here for a week while looking for highly ranked serviced apartments. Instead we stayed two months here. Probably the best way to experience Seoul. Stay with an awesome host, meet all kinds of people in an environment that is very social, positive and clean.

I've enjoyed staying here because the host was very friendly and helpful, and I've met extraordinary roomates, BUT, still, I wouldn't recommand this place to anyone ! There's no maid, some students just ''clean up'' the place, barely, sometimes. They don't change the sheets unless you ask them to, knowing they aren't even here everyday. The washroom is the worst, no one cleaned that place for ages, there are spiderwebs all around the laundry machine. And the inside of the place is no better, cockroaches wander freely in the place. There's no mastic on the bottom of the walls so bugs freely build their nests in the holes, there's been a dead fly in the fridge for a month without anyone cleaning it, I'm sure it's still there even now. So yeah, the place is fun but the dirtiness is just too much to bear. But if you enjoy washing your face in a muddy sink then this place is made for you !
