GLAD Mapo

So “GLAD” I found and book my stay at this GLAD hotel. It is extremely modern and clean minimalistic decor suits my taste perfectly. The location is most convenient right at Exit 9 of MRT Gongdeok station with escalator and elevator access which is very helpful when travel with luggage. There is also Tous Les Jours Bakery and Twosome Place Cafe in building right across along with many restaurants as well. This is a great base to take MRT and Buses to explore other areas of Seoul such as Ikseondong, Namdaemun, Myeongdong, Yeonnam and Hongdae to name a few. The room and amenities are excellent as seen in pictures and as expected.

Good hotel overall. The rooms were nice and clean, although a bit small.

Breakfast, however, was not great and could definitely be improved. I also requested a paid late checkout, which was provided, but only until 1:00 PM. I understand late checkout depends on availability, but the limit felt a bit restrictive, especially since it was a paid option.

Overall, it was a pleasant stay, but the breakfast and late checkout policy left room for improvement.

Had a very pleasant stay at Glad Mapo. The hotel is modern, clean, and the staff are friendly and helpful throughout the stay. One of the best things is that it is located right above Gongdeok Station, making it extremely convenient to travel around Seoul.

The area is quieter and away from the tourist crowds, yet there are many eateries and cafes nearby, so finding food is very easy. The 7-11 at the lobby is also a big plus for snacks and daily essentials.

Do note that during spring there is no air conditioning, so you need to rely on the small window for cool breeze, which can feel slightly stuffy at night. Overall, still a comfortable and enjoyable stay and I would recommend this hotel.

I stayed here for 7 nights. During my stay the room was kept clean daily, I felt safe and comfortable and the location was excellent, despite not being in the city center, as it is located right next to a major Subway station. The only issue I had was that despite being on the 21st floor, the noise pollution from the street level (cars honking) was not dampened as there aren't double-pane windows, which I found slightly annoying and disturbed my sleep.

we’ve been at Glad Mapo for a week so far and we love it. close to a major subway line and everything you’d need, without being too chaotic or noisy!

the 7-11 in the lobby is great for morning banana coffee fixes or late night ramen runs! they have an ice machine and microwave in the lobby (around the corner in the “feeding room”, and also feel free to ask for a memory foam pillow if you find the standard one too soft - my sleep and neck has been saved by that change alone.

the aircon in the room works VERY well, and the staff are all very friendly. daily water bottles in your mini fridge is brilliant when you’re walking 12,000+ steps a day!

i will definitely come back here to stay again.
