I had two terrible nights of sleep. The bed and pillow were extremely hard and the aircon was not working properly and it was very hot.
I booked two night and wanted to check out after the first night and asked for a refund but they refused that.

Hotel rooms were disgusting. Blood stains on sheets, so much hair under the sheets, hair in the showers, bugs, just genuinely nasty.

Staff gave us new rooms upon letting them know how terribly dirty the original rooms were, but the new rooms were equally as dirty with the same issues (hair, stained sheets, etc.)

As a large group we had seen a total of 5 rooms including the new ones, all totally disgusting. We were not trying to be picky at all, a room with a clean shower and sheets should be the bare minimum. Also they say they don’t offer slippers to “save the world” environmentally but then sell them in the lobby…

TLDR: cheap, dirty, bad.
Don’t stay here :)

it’s a co-working space with a hotel as well. the rooms are pretty basic and provide a good enough space for a no frills vacation, if your intent is to spend most of the day outside. the air conditioning is centrally controlled and is something to take note of - i went in spring and the AC was switched off entirely. we had to open the windows for some ventilation and cool breeze to come in (don’t worry there’s a bug mesh).

aside than that it is placed in a fantastic location at seogyo-dong, which is in between mangwon and hongdae. you get great accessibility to other areas of seoul with the subway options available, and there’s plenty to eat and do around the area too. plenty of chill cafes and restaurants that aren’t too expensive and are actually really decent.

Felt more like an elevated youth hostel.
Very little amenities in the rooms (no hand soap?! No closet, slippers or TV) and house keeping not provided for stays under 7 days.
Location is convenient, about 10min walk from Hongdae so it’s quiet.

Local stitch is a great place if you are the following travellers: digital nomad who is staying in Korea for few months, and second time visitor who really liked quieter neighbourhoods around hongdae like seogyo or yeonnam and looking to just stay in this area. I personally enjoyed staying in this budget friendly room. It's not rich in amenities, but it was clean and comfortable to stay. If you've stayed in business hotels in Japan, I think it's somewhat close to that, but slightly bigger.

I enjoyed its shared spaces, and I think that's a real charm of this place. I started my morning by going to the gym, went to the coworking space, and then wrapped up my day in cozy cafes and restaurants. It even has a room where you can listen to records.

I don't think I can recommend this place to a first-time traveler who is looking to quickly hop into a subway and go to a lot of different neighborhoods though.

Few extra things: You have to purchase some amenities due to Korean environmental laws such as toothbrush or shaving kit. You have to buy slippers too, and I wish I brought Crocs. The washroom does not have a shower curtain, so water splashes everywhere. A quick-drying slipper like Crocs would have been really useful.

This hotel style definitely isn’t for everyone, but I really liked it a lot. The rooms are small and simple, with no amenities provided, but it’s cozy and you can make it work if you’re creative with using the space. We weren’t allowed to use the AC when we were there, but with the window open, it was perfect. Loved the deep dish tub and the heated bidet seat for the bathroom too. I really liked the amenities provided by the hotel though, such as the really nice gym, working space, accessible coin laundry (with change machine) and shared kitchen space. It’s really awesome if you’re a simple traveller, perhaps looking to do some work while travelling, and liked being by the hong dae area. It’s about a 10 minute walk, but where you are is quiet enough that you’re not in the bustle of hong Dae. There’s also a lot of cafes and restaurants nearby, and it’s all yummy and more quiet. Overall, for my self, I will definitely be back.
