Fairmont Ambassador Seoul

I am writing this review to express my deep disappointment and frustration with my recent stay at Fairmont Ambassador Seoul. The level of service I received was far below the standards of a 5-star hotel, and I will definitely never stay here again.
My unpleasant experience started even before check-in. Due to a sudden flight issue, I called the hotel within an hour of making a non-refundable booking to inquire about cancellation options. Instead of showing any empathy or at least pretending to look into it, the staff flatly and rudely refused, saying no cancellation was possible. Fortunately, my flight was confirmed so I proceeded with the stay, but the lack of customer care was jarring.
Furthermore, because my flight arrived early in the morning, I had pre-arranged a 9:00 AM early check-in (knowing their policy that check-in before 9 AM incurs a 100% charge, and after 9 AM incurs a 50% charge). I arrived around 7:00 AM just to check the availability. The staff lied to my face, claiming that the hotel was fully booked and no rooms were cleaned yet. As a Gold Status member, asking for a 2-hour early check-in courtesy shouldn't have been treated this way. It was only after I firmly spoke up and questioned them that they suddenly "found" a room and checked me in.
The absolute worst part was at check-out. My daughter and I had to haul SIX pieces of luggage by ourselves to catch a taxi. At that time, there was one concierge and three front desk staff members standing around with absolutely no other guests to attend to. Yet, not a single staff member offered to help us or even acknowledged our struggle.
Basic hospitality and proactive service are what define a luxury hotel, both of which were completely non-existent during my stay. Fairmont Seoul seriously needs to retrain their staff. I highly recommend looking elsewhere if you expect genuine 5-star service.

We loved our stay. We would stay longer next time. The lobby is beautiful and inviting. The breakfast buffet was delicious. The location next to The Hyundai Seoul and close to Yeouido station and bus stops is ideal. The accommodation is super comfortable. My husband barely left the room because he was so at home. The Le Labo toiletries was very nice. This place is very clean and the staff are super friendly and helpful. Truly 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Our stay at the Fairmont Ambassador Seoul was truly exceptional and ranks among the finest hotel experiences we have ever had. The rooms were absolutely perfect, combining elegance and comfort at the highest level, and the service throughout the hotel was consistently warm, attentive, and refined. The breakfast was outstanding and a genuine highlight of our stay. We also very much enjoyed the facilities (gym, pool etc.), which were excellent and added greatly to the experience. Overall it was absolute perfection.

We would especially like to mention the Manager Jay, whose remarkable service mindset, genuine empathy, and gracious attentiveness left a lasting impression on us. His dedication perfectly represents the spirit of outstanding hospitality and was a perfect example of how to turn guests into fans.

Thank you for such a memorable stay in Seoul - we very much look forward to returning.

Fairmont Seoul exceeded expectations in every way.

The staff were genuinely warm and attentive throughout our stay, making everything feel effortless. The room felt incredibly luxurious—beautifully designed, spacious, and finished with high-end touches that made it a real retreat. Combined with one of the best sleeps I’ve had in a hotel—super comfortable and quiet—it was hard to leave. Breakfast was outstanding with a great variety. The location is also perfect, just a few minutes’ walk to Yeouido Park, which has some of the most beautiful cherry blossoms in Seoul.

Would absolutely stay here again. Special shoutout to Kado, the night concierge, who was incredibly helpful and went above and beyond.

My partner and I recently enjoyed a five-night stay in a Deluxe King room on a high floor at the Fairmont in mid-December 2025.

Overall, our experience was excellent.

The room itself is beautifully appointed, with a clear emphasis on quality.

The interior design, construction workmanship, and the selection of designer furniture and fabrics are all top-notch.
The bedding, in particular, was exceptionally comfortable.
Room acoustics between adjacent rooms are excellent.

While the vanity area and the specific view outlook from our room were not its strongest features, these were minor considerations in an otherwise a good stay.

The value for the room rate was reasonable from our perspective.

Furthermore, the service was impeccable - from room service to all other customer interactions, the staff was consistently attentive and professional.

Location next to the Hyundai shopping mall is very convenient that it is connected to the hotel through internal door access.

We would be very happy to return to this hotel and can confidently recommend it.

Loved our stay here. Was grateful for an early check in. As a platinum member our room was upgraded, which meant the same room type at a higher floor. Breakfast was a good spread though more vegetarian warm dish options would have been even better. The free welcome drinks for accor members were only available at the lobby lounge from a select menu, and our hot chocolates were machine made, overly sweet and quite passable. Otherwise the service was professional. Enjoyed the sauna and heated pool facilities and the staff there was lovely. Cleaning lady was wonderful too. Thomas, the doorman was such a warm presence and really made our stay. Thomas always met us with a smile, helped with our luggage to the taxi and also gave us hotel cards to make sure we wouldn't get lost. He's such a gem and a gentleman! I can't help but specially call him out for making our stay more comfortable and memorable.
Proximity to Hyundai mall is absolutely amazing.
