Philstay Myeongdong Station

i’m not really a fussy person, so this hostel was perfect for me. the room was small and cozy, which was just right for a solo traveller. the location was great and, most importantly, i felt safe as a female solo traveller.

getting to and fro from incheon airport was very convenient too. you can take the airport limousine bus for 17,000 won, so you don’t have to worry about carrying your heavy luggage up and down the stairs. the seats are comfortable too, i highly recommend it!

the room was reasonably clean, the bed was soft and comfortable, and although the walls aren’t very soundproof, i was lucky that my neighbours weren’t noisy. i also appreciated that there was a water dispenser available, which made it easy to refill my bottle throughout my stay. there was a great variety of food nearby, especially halal and halal-friendly options, which was one of the main reasons i chose to stay here. there are plenty of places to shop around the area too.

overall ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ would definitely stay here again next time :)

We had a great 4-night stay at Philstay Myeongdong Station. The hostel is in an unbeatable location—right in the heart of everything—yet surprisingly quiet. Despite being surrounded by the energy of Myeongdong, we couldn’t hear any outside noise at all, which made it really easy to relax after a long day out.

We stayed in a double room, and it was a good size, especially for the area. The bathroom was also clean and reasonably spacious, which we really appreciated. Everything felt well-maintained and comfortable.

The staff were another highlight of our stay—friendly, welcoming, and always ready to help with any questions or requests. Overall, it’s a great hostel that offers both convenience and comfort, and I’d definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Seoul.

The location of the accommodation is excellent, right in the center of the Myeongdong shopping area. It’s close to both places to stay and plenty of food options, and transportation is very convenient. The hotel entrance might be a bit hard to find because it’s quite small. Look for the Ediya Coffee sign—the entrance is right next to it.

The host gave clear explanations and recommendations, but one small downside is that they are very strict about not having any stains on the bedding.
Since the sheets and blankets are white, it made me feel a bit anxious during my stay.

Convenient location and great services at the reception. Room size is just nice & clean for solo traveller.

Room: Yes, the room is small, but as a solo traveler, it was perfectly fine for me. I was able to maximize the space comfortably. I visited during winter, and although the AC is for cooling, the heated floors were extremely helpful and kept the room warm and cozy. The bathroom is basic but complete with shampoo, conditioner, body soap, and even a heater. I also appreciated having my own mini fridge. When I arrived, the room was very clean, the bed was comfortable, and the pillows were great.

Amenities: Although they don’t serve breakfast, there is a common area where guests can eat. It’s fully equipped with an oven, utensils, and free water. They also have a laundry room, which is very convenient for longer stays. Another thing I really liked is that they allow you to leave your luggage if you arrive early or if your flight is late at night, you can simply come back for it later.

Location: The location is excellent, right in the center of Myeongdong. It’s on the 4th floor of a building, and the building itself is already great. There are restaurants and the famous Ediya Coffee in the same building. Convenience stores, cafes, shops, and street food stalls are all within walking distance. The subway station and bus stop are also very near. They are not exaggerating when they say it’s only a 2–3 minute walk, it truly is that close.

Staff and Owner: The staff and owner are very helpful, kind, and welcoming. You can genuinely feel their warmth and hospitality, especially the gentleman at the front desk. During the daytime, I would often see Mr. Jeong Ho Moon, the owner. Although we didn’t have much interaction, he would always greet me and the other guests with a smile, which was very nice. You can really sense his passion and care for his guests. Hopefully, one day we’ll get the chance to talk in the common area. The staff member who assisted me during check-out was also very kind, she even gave me Korean snacks as a goodbye gift. Such a thoughtful gesture. Kudos to all the staff of Philstay Myeongdong Station.

For sure, when I visit South Korea again, if I get the chance, I will stay at Philstay Myeongdong Station again, no doubt about it. It truly feels like a home away from home.
