Philstay Ehwa Boutique – Female Only

I’m in love with this hostel! This was my first hostel exprience and it went incredibly well.

Top 3 things I loved about this hostel:
1) neighbourhood!!! Near the women university so you quite literally have everything trendy, fun and cute all around. Cafes, eateries, olive young, plus train stations all a few steps away. And Hongdae is literally 10 minutes away by cab.

2) safety. The hostel is for women only so for a solo traveller like me, it’s incredibly reassuring to have kind and helpful staff (also women) and friendly fellow travel mates who are just here for a good time

3) the bathroom 🤣 I know this is a bit specific, but I felt so relieve knowing that each bathroom is seperated from each other and is spacious. Theres a lot of them too, so the wait is almost non-existent. And since we’re all girls, it’s clean and well kept 💞

Just a few things to note though,

The hostel is uphill, and is at the 3rd floor so please know you’re in for a WALK.

The lockers situation is alright, but best to prepare what you can to keep your belongings safe.

It’s a shared space, so noises are natural. Grab yourself some earplugs and you’ll be okay 🫶

Other than that, definitely revisiting since the location is extremely convenient and safe 🥹✨

地理位置、房间和清洁程度都非常棒，我觉得女性入住会很放心。但是，工作人员经常在餐桌旁用笔记本电脑工作，还经常大声地和客人吃喝，直到深夜，所以我很难找到座位好好吃饭（房间里禁止饮食）。民宿不是那种只想社交和喧闹的人待的地方。

Stayed here every time I go to Seoul as I feel very safe. It has all the amenities needed. It’s near a university, so there are a lot of youngsters around, which makes it better than staying at places near restaurants with lots of drunk people. Highly recommended for a female solo travellers.

Perfect for solo female travellers. I’ve never stayed in a hostel before but this was close to where I was moving to next. It helped me familiarise myself with the area. Staff are also really nice despite the little English they spoke. There was no hot water on the second day of my stay which they had fixed immediately. I stayed in a 2-bed room with another girl. The room itself was big enough for 2 and the bathrooms and kitchen were kept clean. There's also washing machines which I didn't use. Highly recommend for solo female travellers who need to stay in the area. The only issue is that it is on the 3rd floor so you have to lug your suitcase up 2 flights of stairs. It is directly above Olive Young which might be a plus for some.

Very good for its price, the staff is very friendly and the location is convenient, close to the Ehwa metro station. The fact it's a female only hostel made me feel more comfortable. I like the overall chill vibe, would recommend

The rooms are not big in general but you have enough space to store two big suitcases underneath the bunk beds and your own cabin is really big enough to lie comfortably and have some space next to the matrass to put your clothes and stuff. The staff is very friendly!
Also it is quiet during the night, a nice bonus

因建築結構，一起身就撞到床位上方的梁柱（好幾次），不僅如此，浴室也參差梁柱很難使用。地點方便就在梨花正門對面，價格很低，但對有重要行程的人真的不值得。空間很安靜、廚餘盆子很小。
