Aloft by Marriott Seoul Gangnam

I cannot say enough good things about this location. The staff was one of the most helpful I have ever had the pleasure to experience in a hotel. It was our first visit to Korea and had so many questions. They would always have the answers or make sure they could get the answer for us. I cannot recommend this place strongly enough!

Do not stay here if you cannot handle not like sewage (sewer) smell. They put very strong air freshners in the bedroom to mask the smell of their sewer problem/smell/stench. They acknowledged there was a sewer problem/ issue at this particular hotel which was fully documented. The air freshner should not be used to mask the stench of the nauseating smell and to cover up a bigger issue of their sewage problem which they admitted they have.

Also if you are Marriott Bonvoy member your status/benefit will not get you much here. They lie about not have rooms to upgrade to despite it being low season and on a weekday.

Customer service is lacking. Some staff cannot speak English and get frustrated woth you and yell. A night staff that worked the night shift yelled/raised at me over the phone because he couldn't understand me over the phone.

Horrible general manager who passes the blame to everyone else but her. Worst hotel in Korea. This is NOT a hotel, it is a cheap motel for low budget travelers. If you are a Marriot Bonvoy member, do not waste your time or money here.

I had a very comfortable stay at Aloft Seoul Gangnam. The bed was incredibly soft and relaxing, and the location made it easy to get around. Overall, a great place to unwind, though the room lighting was a bit dim and some facilities felt slightly outdated.

The room felt a little old and could use some touch-ups, but overall our stay was good. I would like to give a special compliment to one of the front-line staff members — Amy. She was extremely helpful and truly professional!

After we checked out, we were trying to book a cab to the airport. Amy came over to ask if we needed any assistance. Even after we booked the cab ourselves, the pin location was incorrect, and the driver ended up waiting on the back street behind the hotel. I approached Amy again, and she immediately ran all the way to the back street to meet the driver and guide him to the hotel entrance.

I felt so sorry to trouble her, but at the same time, I am very grateful for her kindness and professionalism. She really went above and beyond. She deserves this compliment, and I sincerely wish her great success in her hospitality career.

Position is perfect to quickly enter/exit the city. Breakfast is various, all very good. Rooms are super clean, bed comfortable, coffee and tea offered for free as well as water (2 bottles a day!) directly available in the bedroom. Special thanks to Mr Tony Kim, front office agent, for special assistance offered when I had problem with mobile phone set up.

Five stars! From check-in to check-out, everything was exceptional. The staff provided outstanding customer service, the room was spotless and comfortable, and the property was beautiful and well-kept. Every detail made my stay enjoyable and relaxing. I would gladly return and recommend this hotel to friends and family.
