AC Hotel Seoul Gangnam

We had a wonderful experience staying at the AC Hotel Seoul Gangnam with our wedding group. From the moment we arrived, the service was warm, professional, and incredibly attentive. The staff, including the front desk and room team, took such great care of us throughout our stay, and their kindness made everything feel smooth and comfortable.

Our guests also had nothing but great things to say about the hotel. Many of them complimented the beautiful property, the comfortable rooms, and the excellent service. It meant a lot to us that everyone felt so well taken care of during such an important occasion.

The location was also excellent and very convenient. It was easy to get around the city, and having subway access nearby made it simple to reach different places.

Thank you again to the team for helping make our wedding stay so memorable. We truly appreciated all the care and effort, and we would gladly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a great stay and outstanding hospitality.

I stayed at the AC Hotel Gangnam recently, and while the property is modern and located in a busy business district, I wouldn’t recommend it for personal or leisure travel. The area is clearly designed for office workers rather than tourists, so you won’t find much shopping or sightseeing nearby. There are a couple of convenience stores close to the hotel and an Olive Young across the street, which was helpful, though the product selection felt limited compared to more central neighborhoods. On the positive side, there are plenty of restaurants across the road, so dining options are easy to find.

That said, the stay itself was tiring. Traveling for business already takes a toll, and I wish the rooms had a bathtub to help unwind. Instead, the room was quite small and didn’t feel special at all. It was so unremarkable that I realized afterward I hadn’t even bothered to take a photo—something I usually do when I travel. That felt a little sad, given the price point of the hotel. Speaking of price, breakfast is not included, which was another disappointment.

Service and upkeep also fell short. On my first night, there was no hot water, and I had to call the front desk to fix it after a long day. Housekeeping during my stay wasn’t thorough either, which was surprising for a Marriott-branded property. Overall, AC Hotel Gangnam may work if you’re here strictly for business and want to be in the middle of the district. But if you’re visiting Seoul for leisure, shopping, or sightseeing, this location and the hotel experience are not ideal.

We were honestly very pleasantly surprised by our stay at AC Hotel by Marriott in Gangnam, Seoul. It turned out to be a great choice and I am really glad we stayed there. Even though it is a 4 star hotel, it truly feels like a full 4 stars, and in some aspects even higher. The breakfast was exceptional. I would easily say it felt closer to a 5 star experience. This is actually the first hotel where I have seen real cakes served at breakfast. Not muffins or small pastries, but proper cakes, and more than one option. They even had fresh ice cream with a choice of four flavors, which was such a fun and unexpected touch.
The service was outstanding with absolutely no complaints. A special mention to the breakfast room manager and his team. They were very professional, attentive, and detail oriented. I made a small comment about the butter one morning and the next day it was already fixed. That really impressed me. The reception team was also extremely professional and welcoming throughout our stay.
The rooms were on the smaller side. I completely understand that this is Seoul and it is quite normal, but for three of us it felt a bit cramped. The hotel also has very nice facilities including a children’s room, a gym, and a sauna, which was a great addition to the overall experience. The evening club service was fine, not particularly special, but still enjoyable. What I really loved was the live jazz music played a few times a week in the lobby for everyone to enjoy, and also in the evenings at the rooftop bar. It created a very nice atmosphere. We also tried the evening buffet with crab, lobster, and unlimited wine, and it was very good. Considering how expensive Seoul can be, we found it quite reasonably priced.
Overall, this hotel exceeded my expectations. If we come back to Seoul, we will definitely stay at AC Hotel Gangnam again.

As a Marriott Bonvoy Ambassador member, I stayed a few nights here at around KRW 250k per night.

This property feels slightly different from the usual Marriott Bonvoy hotels. It’s clearly more business-oriented, with a proper lounge environment — ideal if you need a comfortable workspace instead of hunting for a café with power plugs.

Breakfast offers a decent variety. My personal highlight was actually the cup noodles — and yes, you can ask the chef to add two eggs into your ramyeon. Simple, comforting, and honestly quite satisfying.

The lounge happy hour is available as well. However, the selection feels quite similar to breakfast — I even spotted the same tiramisu and salad making a second appearance.

A nice surprise was the massage chair in the room — definitely a plus point after a long day.

There’s also a sauna located at B1, and the train station is just a few steps away, which makes the location extremely convenient.

Overall, a practical choice for business-focused stays.

Good first impression at AC Hotel with its clean, stylish lobby. The lounge next to the lobby is a nice touch, especially for anyone who needs a space to work. Breakfast had a good selection, and as a Bonvoy Platinum member, we enjoyed complimentary breakfast for two. The room is on the smaller side, but it’s new, clean, and comfortable.

This hotel is the whole package. It’s the bomb. I stayed for 9 days, so I had a lot of time to get to know it, and I literally have only good things to say.

First and foremost, the room was clean, modern, well-designed, and QUIET. For being in a fairly busy area and within 3 mins walk of a subway station, I never heard a neighbor or road noise (my room was on a middle floor facing the street). The air conditioning was responsive and very effective. The toilet is quite high tech, it’s auto-flushing and has a bidet. Bed was comfy and the shower pressure was sufficient. The view was lovely and I could see the sunset over the skyline from my window. What more could you ask for?

The housekeeper noticed halfway through that I always drank all the water and also the camomile tea, and I came back one day to find an array of 8 bags of camomile. That really made my day ☺️

I also really liked that it had multiple sitting areas — a small dining table and chair, and also a comfy recliner-ish chair and ottoman. I liked being able to move between them and the bed. Feels more like home that way!

I didn’t have a ton of interaction with the front desk staff but did request some extra hangers which came promptly!

The property has a nice gym with an inbody scanner and laundry in the basement. The washing machine adds detergent for you, which is interesting, but you don’t have a ton of control over the settings. I wanted to dry my clothes on low but couldn’t. The cost as of this writing is 4000 won once for the washer and once for the dryer).
