Toyoko Inn Seoul Dongdaemun No.1

Solo travel. Hotel room included all basic necessities. Room was well equipped. PJs available in lobby if desired. Good location near DDP. Strict with check in time. Luggage storage available. I would stay again.

I love the Toyoko Inn franchise of hotels. It's a pity I only discovered the brand whilst in Korea and not on my earlier trip to Japan. I stayed at the Toyoko Inn Bupyeong, Busan Station 1 and this hotel. Locations are great- close to metro stations and the airport limousine stop.The rooms are economical for budget travellers but also as a solo female traveller, I felt safe.

Stayed 4 nights in April 2025.
The location is really good. Close to dongdaemon, can walk there for meals and shopping. Dongdaemon Design Plaza is just behind the hotel, so are the city walls. Airport Bus 6001 stopped right the hotel's doorstep, and exit 4 of line 4 is just round the corner, there's an elevator near exit 4 that goes to the subway platforms.
The area is not rowdy there are a few convenient stores nearby. Had dinner at a small eatery (Buke Seoul) in a lane on the right side of the hotel one night, very satisfying meal.
We had a double room. At 13m², it was a little tight. However we could still half open our luggage and hang up some clothes on the wall rack. Room and towels were clean. The bathroom is very clean. One stands in the bathtub to shower, floor does not get wet because there was a shower curtain. Water pressure was good and temperature adjustment was easy.
There are shampoo etc, but do bring own toothbrush and razor.
Breakfast was included and the spread was really good! It varied daily and hence not boring. There are 2 bottles of water provided daily.
There is a washing machine and a dryer at the lobby floor, at night tends to have more users.
Receptionists are friendly, and one particular young man on duty on the morning of 25/4 was particularly helpful and nice.
Would stay again, but the next time hope to book a twin room, for the bigger space.

The hotel is located minutes away from the subway station. It is pretty easy access. The room is not very huge, but comfortable enough to catch a sleep. The bathroom is very tiny. The bathtab is the plus.
TV channels are mostly Korean and 1 English channel.
They serve free breakie in the morning. Considering the rate, this is good deal.

Something I notice was smell. When I entered the building, there was some smell in the lobby. Not sure what it was. It was not pleasant.

Overall, it is fine for a couple of days.
