The Point Hotel

Amazing view from room 801!!! We could watch the fireworks 🎆 and drone light show. The lounge has great food and drinks and a private outdoor terrace with the same view. I booked through Priceline and the desk staff gave me a free room upgrade! Parking in the garage was included.

Overall condition of the room/hotel was nice and clean. Location was great, obviously it’s right on the beach. Where I had the most problem with the shady booking practices and terrible service.

We specifically booked an “Ocean Deluxe” suite advertised with a full view of the ocean. When we got to our room, we had a view facing the adjacent building and you had to crane your neck to see the ocean. When we went to speak to the manager, I believe her name was Jessie, we were told that we have the correct room and that all rooms are booked/assigned a standard room and to upgrade to the full ocean view, you need to pay 100,000 won/night. Conveniently, to upgrade that day it was only 30,000 won/night. I kept showing her our booking and how it is advertised as full ocean view, but she refused to accommodate or compensate in any way.

When booking, there are clearly different tiers of rooms, including the city view, full ocean view (Ocean Deluxe) terrace room, etc. We paid more for the Ocean Deluxe and it is advertised as having the full ocean view. What’s the point of having these tiers if you are not guaranteed the room? We didn’t want this to put a damper on our vacation so we just accepted the room we were given and we just won’t come back here.

This hotel’s location in Busan is excellent, you’re literally right on the beach.
We didn’t initially book in for breakfast and I’m glad we didn’t when I saw their offering - very limited. There’s lots of local eateries close by so it’s cheaper and you’ll have more options too.
The rooms are great, very modern and clean and the staff are friendly.
This hotel only gets 4/5 because of the breakfast choices and the fact that the onsite laundry facilities (which are next to reception), are very expensive. We paid about £20 for two loads of self service washing. At our last hotel in Korea and later in Japan, it was less than half that.

Very big rooms with beautiful views. The rooms are clean and the breakfast is good. However you need to ask for them To clean your room, and they standardly do not clean your room the first day what is a bit strange. Also when you come up to the room, you have to open the lock to go to the room. But the emergency door was open all the time what has no lock.. you can just walk in what is a bit strange. Still overal it was a very pleasant experience and I would recommend going here.

Very comfortable and best value-for-money hotel through our trip in Korea. Even though the hotel is located in high floors of a commercial building and not so easy to find, once you get here the ambience, the room, the service are very worthwhile.
