I have something to say about this hotel. Koreans and foreigners, please listen!
I’ve traveled all around the world and stayed in hundreds of hotels of all kinds, and this is by far the WORST EXPERIENCE I’ve ever had. The service is terrible, the staff are incompetent, rude, and borderline aggressive.
I booked through Booking and received multiple confirmation messages, including one from the hotel. I even showed up the same morning to leave my luggage, which they accepted—and they even charged me 30,000 won.
Imagine my surprise when I came back at 10 PM to check in, only to be told that my reservation had been canceled and my room given to someone else because, according to them, I hadn’t confirmed! I never received any message, call, or email during the day.
And keep in mind—I was there in person that very morning.
In short, don’t go there. They are scammers on top of having disgusting conditions—everything is dirty, and once again, the staff are aggressive.
I do not recommend this place.
I was forcibly cancelled on the day of arrival due to overbooking. They offered no compensation whatsoever and simply told me to book another accommodation. I am leaving this review in the hopes that others will not suffer the same fate.
The staff will probably be able to guess who I am from reading the reviews, but even considering that, I'm leaving this because it was such a pain.
I booked a hotel for Wonder Rivet.
My companion and I each had a room, and we planned to stay for two nights (Friday, Saturday, and Saturday).
We arrived at the hotel at 11 AM, the check-in time after the Friday event.
There were a lot of people on the first floor wearing wristbands, probably from the event. Still, we were relieved because we'd made a reservation in advance.
What a relief! I was overbooked due to an error on the booking platform (Agoda). My companions, despite having a valid reservation, were told to wait until noon because no rooms were available.
It wasn't just my group. Other people around me were also told there were no rooms available, and that regardless of whether they had made a reservation in advance, they should wait until noon or get a refund, but go somewhere else.
We were staying for multiple nights, so we were anxious. When we asked, they said they couldn't guarantee that the same thing wouldn't happen tomorrow if there were a lot of people.
I think everyone knows that when booking accommodations, Saturdays and Sundays are the most popular, so they're expensive and often booked out.
They were hesitant about overbooking, saying, "Your room is completely unavailable," and didn't give us a definitive answer. So, we waited with our group until around midnight, only to find out later.
As a result, the last train left after midnight, and because it was so late, Agoda's mediation efforts were unsuccessful.
We almost ended up sleeping in a room with a group of opposite sexes.
Luckily, there was only one room left at a nearby accommodation within walking distance, so we somehow avoided sleeping outside.
After contacting Agoda's customer service center, we unpacked, washed up, and prepared for bed at our new accommodation, and it was 2 a.m. I had planned to run first because I wanted to see them from the event fence on Saturday, but after arguing and walking all the way to the new accommodations in the cold wind... I was exhausted by dawn, so I gave up.
So, I won't consider staying at Yeonsinnae Station again for future KINTEX events. According to my group, the rooms were quite new and clean.
Well... unless you're unlucky enough to be crowded like us, it shouldn't be that bad.
+I debated for a long time whether to write a review because when I argued with the staff after the last train was canceled, they gave me cash for transportation.
But... I remember booking in advance for 50,000 won on Friday and Saturday, and 75,000 won on Saturday and Sunday.
I received the full refund.
The alternative accommodation we had to book around noon on Friday due to Tao was 90,000 won, and it didn't even have a heater. When I looked for accommodations on Saturday and Sunday, the price was 60,000 won when I looked before, but when I tried to book in a hurry, it went up to 80,000 won.
Please don't feel bad about writing this review even though I gave them 10,000 won for transportation.
My plans were disrupted, so I ended up spending 40,000 won more than my original 130,000 won accommodation bill.
