Stanford Hotel Myeongdong

This place is wonderful! The location is very good and just below is the shopping street where all the stores and food carts are. The metro station is nearby as well and walking distance!
The room is rather small, but the bed was very comfortable. The service was helpful.

My experience at Stanford Hotel Seoul was disappointing due to inconsistent customer service and a lack of flexibility.

We arrived hoping to check in a little earlier and were even willing to pay an additional fee for early check-in, but the hotel refused without offering any alternative solution. While I understand that early check-in depends on room availability, the staff showed little willingness to accommodate our request.

What was even more frustrating was the late check-out policy. We requested a modest extension until 1:00 PM, but our request was denied. However, during our stay, we overheard staff granting a 1:00 PM late check-out to other guests. This inconsistency made us feel that guests were not being treated equally or fairly.

The hotel itself may be adequate, but customer service plays a major role in the overall guest experience. Unfortunately, the lack of flexibility and the apparent double standard in handling guest requests left a negative impression. I would hesitate to stay here again and hope management reviews how these situations are handled in the future.

I loved my stay here! The room had everything I needed and the bed was very comfortable. The location is fantastic for exploring bustling Myeongdong, and is also close to a train station, so it’s easy to explore other areas too. And the staff were always friendly and helpful, particularly Selina who went above and beyond to help me on my final day in Seoul, she was absolutely fantastic and really made my day!

The location was good, and the rooms were functional. The front staff were warm and helpful. However, I gave up after 15 minutes waiting for the bar staff to take my order for food and drinks, and instead we left the hotel to one of the many nearby bars and restaurants.

I was skeptical to book this hotel because it is a mere 3 stars but I continued reading the reviews from fellow Singaporeans and felt more assured that this will at least meet my basic standards.

During my visit to Korea, there was one hotel that I checked out and forfeited the payment and went ahead to book another 5 star hotel and I feared that this will be the case for Stanford especially so since it is our last accommodation and for 5 nights.

Upon entering into our room, I was sold by the size of the room and also the view that greeted us - it was the lotte mall with all its festive decorations. Imagine sleeping and waking up to this view, magical.

Housekeeping was a hit and miss, there were days that I could see wrappers on the carpet (from the previous guest) and days where our vanity items were not stocked up but that’s fine.

Location was strategic, I love it and it is so convenient for us especially with a toddler. Hotel also came with a locker so it is very useful!
