Mir Guesthouse

Quite basic , but comfortable, friendly and quiet. Friendly helpful staff. Quirky building based on the dragon rock nearby. We enjoyed our visit.

The location is perfect and they provide breakfast. The room, the restrooms are sparkling clean. I am so happy that it is right next to rainbow road, you can walk around the area easily and the WiFi is fast! I just know that jeju island had free wifi everywhere?! That’s awesome.

The property is easy to locate, with a distinctive volcanic-rock inspired exterior that sets it apart from surrounding buildings. The entrance and lobby are clean, well-maintained, and welcoming. Check-in was efficient, and the staff were consistently warm, attentive, and fluent in English, which made the arrival process smooth.
The dormitory room was clean, well-prepared, and thoughtfully presented with themed touches that reflect the guesthouse’s modern concept. Beds are comfortable, and amenities such as towels, toiletries, hairdryer, water, and breakfast are provided. However, the design of the top bunk could benefit from improvement: the lowered ceiling, partially obstructed curtain, and lack of railing on one side make the space less comfortable and slightly inconvenient. Additionally, the power outlets at the bed were unreliable during my stay.
Shared bathrooms were clean, adequately ventilated, and well-stocked. Water pressure and temperature were consistent. One maintenance issue was a rusty shower-door lock that caused difficulty when opening, but aside from that, the facilities on the floor were sufficient and well-kept.
The common areas are a highlight—beautifully designed, social, and clearly well-maintained. The guesthouse offers a relaxed atmosphere that feels welcoming to solo travelers. Location is excellent: close to bus stops, Jeju Station, convenience stores, the waterfront, and only a short distance from the airport. There is no elevator, but this was manageable with lighter luggage.
What stood out the most was the service. Staff were proactive, helpful with recommendations and daily planning, and consistently ensured guests were comfortable. The environment felt safe, warm, and well-managed throughout my stay.

Mir Guesthouse feels like my “home” in Jeju. The staff are always friendly and polite, and the vibe in the house is something special. I always end up making friends here, which doesn’t happen often in other places. I think it has a lot to do with the fact that everyone gathers together and it just feels natural to talk.

The morning cleaning team works very hard and it shows, everything is spotless.

Peter, the owner of this beautiful and unique building, makes delicious egg sandwiches every morning. I don’t even like waking up early, but I do it here because I don’t want to miss breakfast. Besides the way everyone gathers together in the breakfast time makes it an excellent way to meet new people every day.

You also don’t need to bring toiletries, they provide all the essentials, even toothpaste. I forgot mine this time and was extremely grateful.

This was my fourth stay (I think!) and I’ll keep coming back every time I visit Jeju. The area around the guesthouse is stunning and makes for a perfect first taste of the island. You’ll find gorgeous cafés for every taste and plenty of cheap, delicious food in the neighborhood.

If the weather is good they also do “movie night” which i think it’s fantastic!

Can’t recommend Mir Guesthouse enough. It’s a place that stays with you.

I recently stayed at Mir Guesthouse in Jeju, and while it had its pros, there were a few drawbacks. The guesthouse is very clean, and the staff is friendly and helpful. However, the rooms felt cramped with limited privacy, especially in the shared bunk beds. I had the top bunk and kept hitting my head on the low ceiling, which was a bit frustrating. One of the bigger inconveniences was the lack of a washer on-site. After getting caught in the rain, I had to walk about 10 minutes to a laundromat to wash my clothes. It would be a great addition for guests if they offered laundry facilities at the guesthouse. Overall, it’s a decent place if you’re looking for something clean and budget-friendly, but keep these points in mind if you’re staying for an extended period.
