Imperial Palace Boutique Hotel

We stayed at this hotel for three nights and our reservation did not include breakfast.

The best thing about this hotel is definitely its location. It is very conveniently located and made it easy to get around and explore the area.

The hotel itself is quite old, although it has been renovated and designed in a modern style. Overall, it was not the best hotel we have ever stayed in, but it was acceptable for a short stay.

The main issue was the cleanliness. We found several long black hairs in the bathroom and there was also hair on the floor of the room, which made the room feel less clean than expected. In addition, the shower was not working properly, which was inconvenient.

Overall, the location is excellent, but the hotel could improve its housekeeping standards and maintenance.

Ps: Yesterday, housekeeping came to clean the room. However, the floor was still covered with dust, hair, and dirt afterward, which suggests that the floor was not properly cleaned or vacuumed. I would appreciate it if the room could be thoroughly cleaned, especially the floor, as cleanliness is very important for a comfortable stay

-no laundromat or nearby coin laundry. there’s a “laundry service” but it’s actually a dry cleaning. I only found out after the fact when I got charged $229.
-rooms without windows. Not “rooms with no view” but legitimately no windows. To make matters worse, the rooms are painted dark colors so it felt like a dungeon.
-no free amenities, all come at a cost. Not a big deal but even toyoko inn wasn’t this stingy
-there’s a club nearby. It will keep going until at least 6am. You will hear it
-there’s a gym on the third floor. You will hear it
-showers leak
-no sealed wall separating the toilet or shower and see through glass on the toilet.

On the positive: the rooms are spacious but I’d trade the space for a window and a coin laundry. For the price I paid, I’m severely disappointed and will not be going back.

The bass from the Club in the basement thumps on until 5:30 am... My room was on the 11th floor!!!
Electricity in the room not working (master switch, to turn the main light off). They sent a guy who opened a box hidden in the wardrobe to turn a switch off and on again...at 5 am!!! But still, the buttons in the bedside table did not work.
Simply a nightmare for 250.000 Won / 150 Euro per night!!

There were too many bits of hair everywhere when I moved into my room today...did not disturb me that much when I moved in, but now I know the club stays open until 5.30 am and I can’t even switch off the light in the room... it’s ridiculous for that price

Good:
Rooms are nicely renovated, elevators are fast and not crowded, checking in was easy and staff was nice. Air purifier is great and it's a necessity since cigarette smoke will likely filter into your room. Location is fine and easy walking distance to subway.

Not good:
This is not a hotel to relax at. Loud music plays to 2am on weekends, and the beds are pretty hard and uncomfortable. Walls are super thin with no soundproofing, I could hear the person in the room next to mine snoring all night. I requested room service filled my conditioner since it was empty when I arrived but the request was not fulfilled so I had to buy a new mini to use. I generally only use hotels to wash and sleep so it was frustrating that the only two things I needed it for were made difficult.

I wouldn't return or recommend a stay here unfortunately.

Since the hotel did the renovation, it has become quite terrible:
nothing works in the rooms, the power sockets, the water in the bathtub and sink doesn't go away.
They have small posters in the bathroom saying the hotel is going green to avoid single use plastic, but they don't have places to re fill water to drink, therefore they give you plastic water bottles in the lobby (contradictory).
the rooms have very dim light.
I use to love this hotel, but you can tell they are not putting much attention into it.
won't be coming back.

I really enjoyed my stay at the Imperial Palace Boutique Hotel. The location is excellent, the entrance is stunning, and check-in was impressively efficient. I was especially impressed by how well the breakfast was organized - a perfect start to each

day.

The only downside for me was the bathroom design. I'm not a fan of rooms where the bathroom feels like it's been "inserted" into the space, surrounded by glass and mirrors. It offers little real privacy, and it's hard to avoid your roommate in those moments you might prefer to. At night, the sound of the toilet tank refilling can also be quite loud and lasts for several minutes, which isn't ideal when you're trying to

sleep.

Aside from that, it's a very good hotel with friendly service and a great location. I'd happily stay here again.

Stayed at Imperial Palace Boutique Hotel Itaewon and had a good experience. The location is great — close to the subway, convenience stores, mosque, and halal food spots. It’s a bit far from some day tour pickup points, though. Room was clean and a decent size. Staff were friendly, polite, and spoke good English. Overall, a comfortable and convenient stay!
