Hotel Venue G Myeong-Dong

Stayed for six nights traveling to Seoul from United States. Location is fantastic in a quieter part of Meyongdong and next to Cheonggyecheon Stream. Staff is extremely friendly and the maid services are great. Our room was a little on the smaller side for two people, but that was no issues as we spent most days out and about. The only thing that stood out was a lack of amenities. There’s a restaurant, meeting room and cafe, but no laundry, gym or pool. Again, wasn’t an issue but good to know. Overall, really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Venue G

Decent clean hotel in a good location . Competitively priced which merits a 5 star review. It’s a standard 3 star hotel wirh nicely decorated public areas and corridors etc. rooms are functional and clean . Breakfast is not great but gives you something to start the day in an area that doesn’t have a lot of breakfast options on the doorstep

Overall, I would have been very pleased with my stay here had I not spent too much of it arguing with the hotel staff about the air conditioning.

It's a business hotel, clean and compact but functional. We had a twin room which was reasonably spacious. It's well-located close to a lot of the central sights of Seoul and some of the Eulji-ro nightlife.

However, the staff are very difficult about the air con, particularly one man at the front desk.

They claim it's impossible to turn on the air con (not true) and give long-winded ever-changing explanations about how their systems work. They refused to let me speak to a manager about this issue and were very argumentative, at one point threatening to cancel our stay over the disagreement.

It transpires that – despite advertising the rooms as with air con – the hotel can either offer heating or cooling, but not both at once. Because of this, they only turn the air con on when the outside temp goes above 20 C. However, when we arrived our room was 27C. They offer a fan but that doesn't really help. Opening the window is not an option as some large-scale construction is going on very close to the hotel.

The hotel should make it clear that they only offer air con seasonally and train their staff on how to treat guests with respect, especially given this is clearly an issue other guests have faced. Perhaps basing their heating/cooling decisions on the internal, rather than external, temp would also be a smart move.

I always stayed in Myeongdong near Myeongdong station when I come to Seoul. Just because it’s so convenient.. this time I decided to stay at hotel Venue G which has Myeongdong address but it is more like bordering Insadong I think …. It’s easy 12 minutes walk to Insadong and same distance to Myeongdong street food night market. I like how clean this hotel is and the size of the room is quite spacious.. The bed is also comfortable. There is not too much going on near the hotel .. the hotel is a few minutes walk to Starbucks and a good coffee shop I forget the name near Starbucks that has a good bagels!!!! Restaurants are within 6-15 minutes walk all directions… overall I enjoy my stay at Hotel Venue G which… I would come back again in the future…

I have a very unpleasant stay here.

Stay during November, Autumn season. Weather there is around 8-12 degrees.

First of all, the reception staff & the other crew member is not friendly here.

Secondly, I am not able to adjust the temperature in my room. They do have a temperature control unit in room, but there is limitations as to what you can set.

My room is 25-27 degrees in night, and the air conditioning unit is blowing out hot air. It is extremely warm and stuffy.

I feedback this to reception, the guy just laughed at me like I am an idiot and told me currently Korea very cold , so they stop all the cold air conditioning system. I told him my room is warm and stuffy, still he laughed and show me weather forecast on his phone, tell me it is very cold now. Very rude and trying to ignore me telling him it is warm and stuffy.

In the end he suggested to put a fan in my room, but it doesn’t help.

I have to keep my window open for 4 night straight, and there is a construction site right next to the hotel. Imagine you are tired and not able to sleep during your trip..😐

One perk is their location is very good, behind the hotel there is lots of good food and Cheonggyecheon stream is just beside the hotel.

But I guess without a good sleep you can’t really enjoy the view and good food there😀

I would recommend you guys to stay at another Hostel, just a 10 minute walk from Hotel Venue G, I have a very pleasant stay there.
