Hera Hotel. Daegu

This hotel is near to the train station. Exit door 5 to the ground floor and just a short walk to the hotel. The CHK in time is 4pm and I was allowed to CHK in around 3pm. The room is spacious but I smell cigarettes. Nothing interesting around this hotel.

Great location. Clean. Friendly staff. The toilet had bidet (Japanese style). Quiet.

Cleanliness okay. Quietness very good. Staff are helpful and humble, price is reasonable. Their toilet have bathtub and automatic toilet seat. Bed is a king size bed, two PC computer, one refrigerator, suitable for solo work or couple visits.

The rooms are pretty bad. They gave us the wrong keys when we got here. The refrigerator didn't work. The owner ran his mouth when my wife asked questions. Therefore I had to raise my voice at the old. Quite uncomfortable.

The check-in process wasn’t as easy as I expected, since none of the staff spoke English, so I had to rely on my limited Korean to communicate. I did get a free upgrade to a higher floor, which was nice. The key I received wasn’t a card, keycard, or door code - just a simple physical key, which I was fine with.

When I entered the room, I took off my shoes and was confused as to why there were no lights or electricity - until I realized the key tag had to be placed into a slot on the wall. This wasn’t clearly explained to me. Even though I was the only foreigner who had booked a room, they still called and asked for my name again, which was a bit annoying.

Despite the view of the highway or main road from the window, the room was surprisingly quiet. The bathroom was spacious and easy to use. I couldn’t figure out how to turn on the jets in the bathtub, but the water ran well and was warm and pleasant. The sheets were also comfortable.

The fridge, unfortunately, was small. But overall, if you’re planning to stay a few nights in Daegu, it’s still worth the price. The location is great and very convenient.
