Overall summary: Beautiful, well located hotel but very poor soft touch.

I recommended my Canadian friend to stay here before the flight back home to experience modern Hanok on her birthday. The place was beautiful and we were very excited with the prospect of staying in this lovely hotel but we had a bad start in the front yard itself.. there was no doorman or anyone to help with the luggage so we had to carry 2-3 luggages by ourselves (we are 2 girls) from taxi to the lobby. Even when we entered the lobby, the staff just looked at us and mechanically processed our check in and inform us they can't let us have the room as their earliest check in time is 2pm and we were there at 1.15.

We would have loved to get the room especially it is her birthday but of course, it is subject to room availability so we left our luggage with the reception and head to their signature restaurant Song Dining.

Dining Song was a cutesy place overlooking the Hanok establishment and their food quality was not bad. We had good lunch but came out to find our luggage just dashed away in the corner of the lobby and again, no help whatsoever with luggage to get to the room.. the staffs were just not trained I can see to usher hotel guests.. the hotel staff who took us to our room didn't even know how to open the door to the corridor.

We booked Deluxe twin bed Room and it was spacious with traditional korean touch but unfortunately, it wasn't to 5 star standard.. 1. 2 towels per person, no hand towel and the quality of towels were worse than what I use at home 2. Bathtub had reversed sign for cold and hot water!! I thought this can be soo dangerous.. i could have burned myself.. 3. Shower head top was missing.. I carefully examined to see if it was part of the design coz I refused to believe KRW500,000 per night place can provide such equipment.. but I am quite positive they lost it..

We woke up at 6am from the sound of music blasting through their corridors.. I couldn't understand why they would play music at such early hours even though they were soothing music, it definitely will wake up the sensitive ones..

Their breakfast is done via pre-order system and apparently the cut off time for is 8pm which no one bothered to tell us. When we complained to the reception, they simply shrug off and said "we can take it now".

They have around 5-6 options and it was bit of an overlap with their lunch menu we had the day before. They serve salad and beverage before the meal and they gave 3options for drinks, which were orange juice, apple juice and coffee. Mind you, the juices were not fresh juice..

I'd have swallowed all these points if the hotel was a 3-4star or the price is cheaper.. but considering they are one of the best hotels in Korea, I feel they have a lot to catch up.. train their staff to have service oriented attitude.. no one we meet at the corridor would ever greet us or offer to help with luggage, etc..

I decided to book this hotel to experience at least living like you are in Joseon era and it’s Proximity to central park. Indeed the photos are real, it was beautifully designed hotel that embodies Joseon heritage and for 5 star hotel, the price was unbeatable, however, nothing more special as the staff were all cold and did not display any warm hospitality.. i guess I was expecting a lot for 5 stars hotel. Toothpaste and toothbrush isn’t provided as per policy. I guess I was expecting that most hotels in Asia do provide that. Just a heads up to bring your own. The place was very quiet the view the modern city at night was splendid. It’s such a beautiful contrast. The bus stop to the airport as well are within walking distance.
Also, they provided a Qr Code with hotel information and amenities but it’s in Hangul. I wish they could provide an English guide for foreign guests

Beautiful hanok style hotel in the middle of picturesque Songdo Central Park. Rooms are beautifully appointed with great amenities, very clean, and a very different experience from a typical hotel.

They hotel was right out of a Korean drama. It was so quiet and beautiful. The rooms had expensive toilets and an expensive massager that came with the room. The only setback was to location. It does not have many markets nearby. The closest one is around one hour away. But other than that, it is a great hotel.

Loved the traditional style of the hotel inside and out, the amenities are top notch. Sitting out in the courtyard area its a nice contrast between the traditional hotel and the high rises in the distance. First visited on our honeymoon and now our must stay every time we are in korea
