Apollo Guesthouse

There were some hits and misses during our stay at Apollo Guesthouse. Service was really good and all staff we interacted with were very friendly, helpful, easygoing and accommodating. I liked the laid back and flexible nature of staying there.

The location is ok. The guesthouse is situated in a quiet neighbourhood, about a 5 minute walk from the station. It is close to shops and numerous eateries. The accommodation is however about a 20 minute train ride from the centre of Seoul.

I thought the room was ok too. It was spacious and the bed was comfortable. We didn't spend much time in the room and it served its purpose as a place to recharge overnight. The room was on the older side though and not the cleanest.

We stayed here for a few days whilst visiting South Korea. The location is good as it’s about a 5min walk to the local station that takes you to all the good sports worth visiting. The check in was easy and the staff working there are really polite. There is no elevator so be prepared to walk up some stairs with your luggage.

The rooms wasn’t 100% what we expected but it did its job. We technically booked a twin room but ended up having bunk beds but not really a big deal. We had a clothes rail and a TV but we didn’t use either. The bathroom is ok and the shower is good and does get to incredibly hot temperatures but make sure to keep the door shut during and after to prevent moisture escaping because ventilation is seriously lacking. Shampoo, shower gel and a towel is provided which is handy. The room we had was very quiet so falling asleep wasn’t a problem. AC was also provided but again we didn’t use it. The room looked a little dated which was most probably caused but the lack of ventilation caused over time such as patches on the ceiling and flaking paint. The have drinking was available down by reception so filling our bottle up was easy before heading out. Only real complaint is that the mattress is really thin. WiFi is really good here to that’s definitely a plus.

If you’re a walker then everything is within a 30min-1 hours walk. There’s plenty of restaurants around as well so you won’t go hungry… well you will if you only use apple pay.

Mold on ceiling, shower door doesn't close , sink doesn't drain, shower head was broken. Strong musty odor .. they even left ac on it smelled so bad.

Bed was hard and felt like sleeping on boxspring with cardboard?

Constant battle with mosquitos and other insects do to the moisture.

The pretty moon curtain is to hide the wall behind window. Insects look to have landed on the moon ..lol

none of this stuff is oh maybe they didn't notice. They just rented it anyway..

I was kind and gave it two stars because the room itself is reasonable size and well lit (though with all the bugs I was afraid to shut the lights off all 4 days) and the price was OK. Wi fi worked well.

The room I stayed in was the private room with included bathroom.

Thankfully it was just a few days to fill a gap till my flight.

Awesome guesthouse with lovely staff. Best one overall price to quality that I found in Seoul for a 2 week stay. The kitchen can be improved a bit, but other than that highly recommend.

This place is the best. Easily the best guesthouse I've been to in 10 years. I've worked at guesthouses in Seoul and stayed in many of them as research. Apollo has such a welcoming staff, vibe and guests. It's also in the best area for getting everywhere in seoul possible. 5 star guesthouse. Clean, fun and safe.
