Great Location. Rooms are a bit small but that’s fine if you only want to be there for sleeping. Rooftop terrace is great. They also have a washing machine and small kitchen area, steamer and hair dryer. Downside is there is only one bathroom for multiple rooms and the toilet is inside there (3 bathrooms in total at the entire place) so you often have to wait long. Also other guest did not respect the rules of not showering after 11pm so that was annoying (but the other guests fault) also bring earplugs if you are a light sleeper since it gets super loud and you hear everything. Especially the door buttons have an alarm sound and it’s often beeping throughout the night - they should fix that, literal nightmare! Also the beds are really uncomfortable, you can feel the springs. But for the price this place is great and budget friendly and the location is a plus! Especially for a short stay I would recommend it for this price.

I stayed one night at YAB Guesthouse and had a good overall experience. While the building is older, it was surprisingly clean for a hostel, and everything felt organized and well maintained. Even though I never saw any staff because the check-in process was fully self check-in, everything was clearly set up.

The bed wasn’t the most comfortable, but for a short stay it was perfectly fine. Also, the location is a huge plus—just a few minutes from Hongik University Station, right on the main street, and only about an hour from Incheon Airport with easy train access.

Overall, it’s a solid choice if you want a clean, organized, and well-located hostel in Seoul at a reasonable price.

WOULD NOT RECOMMEND
I stayed here for 2 nights, firstly if you value your bladder don’t stay here! There is only 1 joint Shower/Toilet for 4 rooms on the floor. So if you need to pee while someone is showering then you basically will die of desperation. I went to 2 other floors as I really needed it but same problem as there is only one for 4 rooms. If you only have 1 why would you have it joint? It also makes everything wet and slippery, sitting on toilet is a challenge as it’s so close to the wall I had to put my legs to the side. It’s just stupid and against health and safety! there is also no one to talk to/ ask questions which made things very confusing.
Also, you cannot use any of the facilities before checkin or after checkout like with other places as they have a door code which is specific to person which can start and expire according to your stay. No Breakfast, outside is very smelly! Also I had to pee in the night but again someone was taking shower so I thought of going upstairs but it was raining heavily outside and stairs are not covered so I did not want to slip in the dark. My bed/ room was right next to the shower and although they put up rule to not shower after 11pm people did it anyway so it was very noisy. But I can’t blame them as there is too many people for 1 shower during the day so what else can they do.
It feels like they are just out to make money by cramming everyone in 1 tiny space with bare essentials. This is not nice at all! They should make 1 of the rooms into another toilet/ shower for health of people.

This is my second time in KR and I definitely stayed at YAB and will do so a third time ♡ I love it, super cozy ♡

The location is really good, very close to hongik university metro station. And the hongdae shopping street is nearby. The hostel was cute and peaceful. The room was in the basement. There was less sunlight and ventilation in the room. Only one toilet per floor but I didn't have any problem. Overall a good stay for budget Travel.
