Star Guest Oneroomtel

This is a decent pick for value, but I would not recommend this for anyone that can comfortably afford a better stay elsewhere. The property was extremely affordable (especially for a private room and bathroom!) but the facilities left quite a bit to be desired. The room smelled distinctly of mold and the bathroom tiles oozed water out when stepped on. The walls were also very thin and I could hear phone alarms from other rooms. All-in-all, it was an okay place to stay for the very budget conscious, but I ended up booking myself a stay elsewhere.

Here’s a cleaner, more natural version of your review:

I stayed in this roomtel for a week. Navigating the area can be quite difficult if you’re new to Seoul, especially since Google Maps isn’t very accurate and sometimes leads you to the back side of buildings.

The room is small considering the price, which I found expensive. There is a shared kitchen located at the back. The staff are somewhat approachable, but not particularly attentive.

Room cleaning doesn’t seem to be standard—I’m not sure if it needs to be requested, but my room wasn’t cleaned even once during my stay.

Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this place for long stays (more than 24 hours). On the positive side, the location is fairly convenient, with easy access to tourist attractions, buses, subways, and restaurants.

Stayed for 2 nights in between hotel transfers. The only pro Is a good location. It was dirty, you can tell it was not properly cleaned between guest. Nothing like the pictures, very small rooms. Noisy from commotions outside. Not enough space to put your luggage down and be able to open it to grab things.

The have very "odd" rule: you have to take your shoes off at the entrance and put them in a locker, slide into their slippers before you enter the hallways/rooms. I really hated this, i don't want to stop by the front desk and take my shoes off, slid into their slippers before entering the room. The lady at the desk followed me down the hall and insisted I had to remove my shoes. This rule is not outlined anywhere prior to booking.

It is in the super great location. Walking distance to city hall station. 3 mins walking to airport bus station (only one way from Seoul to ICN airport, it’s a circle bus route, from ICN to Seoul taking airport train). Lots of great local restaurants downstairs, and some of them open 24 hours. They are mostly for local people not for visitors, which means more cheaper and tasty, because I saw local people lining up for a seat every day. The tourist favorite shopping malls and poplar streets are close by, all within walking distance. The room is compact but it’s clean, quiet and you get everything you need, private room, bed, washroom with shower and toilets, dressing closet, mirror, hair dryer, TV, AC. The staff doesn’t like to talk, but I think it is because they are not good at English. They still like to provide any help I asked. That’s a great choice for short stay in Seoul. I highly recommend it.

I stayed here for 12 nights.
The room is very small but has everything needed in it. I actually liked it.
The bed was very comfortable.
Biggest plus was the very nice woman/receptionist with the cute dog.
I am quite introverted, so I can act a bit shy or may seem unfriendly. But I am very thankful for all the smiles and nice gestures I recieved. It made my stay even better.

The Guestroom is located near city hall.
There are many bus stations nearby and also the city hall metro station.
You can easily walk to Myeongdong or Seoul Station.
There are many Restaurants, Bars and Cafés located nearby.

I can really recommend this Guesthouse.
