Gloucester Hotel Jeju

Stragically located in Jeju city with walking distance to few survenior shops, restaurant and Olive Young. This hotel room is clean and tidy. Breakfast was nice too. Toilet is clean too. Bed is nice and clean. There's a 7-11 ，located in level 2 for convenient of guess and public.

Rooms are basic with essential amenities but lack facilities. The location is convenient, with a 7/11 in the building at Level 2, many nearby shops and restaurants, and easy access to buses and taxis. However, parking is very troublesome due to unclear Korean-only signage and it's located at the back of the hotel. The centralized heating system also means you can’t adjust the air conditioning, making the room uncomfortably warm.

Very Uncomfortable Stay – Absolutely Would Not Return

This was one of the most uncomfortable hotel stays I’ve ever experienced. While the room was spacious, that was the only positive thing about this hotel.

The Wi-Fi was not working at all, and the front desk staff were cold, unfriendly, and completely unhelpful. Despite raising multiple concerns, there was zero service recovery and no effort to make us feel valued as guests.

The first night was terrible. We were abruptly woken up at around 2:00 AM by loud noise, including a woman singing, and we could clearly hear doors opening and closing from other rooms. The soundproofing was extremely poor. The room felt eerie, unsettling, and not comfortable at all, making it very difficult to sleep. We felt on edge rather than relaxed.

Because of how uncomfortable the room felt, we requested a room change on the second night, hoping for a better experience. Unfortunately, this did not improve our stay, and again, no sincere effort was made to address how distressed we were.

Basic amenities were shockingly lacking. There was no toothbrush or toothpaste, the slippers were cheap and unpleasant to use, and the shampoo was so harsh that it left my hair extremely dry and even caused dandruff.

Overall, this hotel failed in comfort, service, and basic hospitality. It did not feel welcoming, restful, or worth the money. I will never book this hotel again and would strongly advise other travelers to think twice before staying here.

We went to Jeju on May 4, 2026 and stayed at Gloucester for the night.
We came in from Busan and were at the Hotel very early for a 3 pm check in.
We had early lunch and waited in the lobby bidding our time. went and requested at the front desk to allot a room if it was ready, and Mr Bruce was kind enough to oblige. Thanks and keep up this excellent service.

This was one of the worst hotel stays we have experienced. We did not sleep at all due to unbearable noise coming from the room and surroundings. There were constant squeaky sounds, high-pitch wave noises, humming, cable-pulling sounds, and even clear conversations from the neighboring room. The soundproofing is terrible.
At around 2:00 AM, we called the lobby out of desperation, hoping for help. Unfortunately, nothing was done—no room change, no real solution, and no concern shown. We were left exhausted and frustrated for the rest of the night.
What made the experience worse was the attitude of the Korean staff. They were cold, unwelcoming, and showed no empathy at all. For a hotel, basic hospitality and care for guests were completely missing.
We paid to rest, but instead we were stressed, sleepless, and disappointed. This hotel failed at the most basic requirement—providing a quiet and comfortable place to sleep. I would never stay here again and would strongly advise others to think twice before booking.
