The bone cement material used in our hospital is a synthetic bone called Methyl Methacrylate, abbreviated as MMA. This material is approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) as safe for implantation in the human body and is widely used in plastic surgery. Since the 1960s, MMA has been utilized by plastic surgeons for forehead, cranial, and other body contouring procedures. MMA closely resembles the shape of natural skull bone and feels similar as well. Moreover, it possesses strength comparable to skull bone, allowing it to permanently maintain its position and shape.
