Whistle Lark Hotel

Had a great stay at the hotel, excellent service and friendly interactions with employees.
Don’t know what other people are talking about with bad interactions with employees so it’s best so ignore them.
Rooms are clean and the beds are large and very comfortable, shower is slightly confusing but manageable.
Location is excellent to easily access the city centre and the markets with only about a 10 minute walk. It’s also got a great waterfront view with amazing views of the waterfront ahead and the mountains behind.

We stayed at the Whistlelark Jeju City Hotel. The hotel location is quite good. The breakfast menu is only 2 types, so the menu is today and tomorrow. The day after tomorrow will be back. In terms of taste, it is quite OK. The mattress in this hotel is not comfortable, too flat and makes noise. The ajuma / cleaning service is very polite, but unfortunately the front desk, especially the man, has an unfriendly face. Not all of them can speak English well. Maybe you can learn from the Korean drama King of the Land, which played Yoona even said the word Hermes just to make her lips smile. We stayed for 9 nights and asked for early check in but it was not possible. On the last day, we asked for a late check out which was 11 a.m. max 12 p.m. We had to check out after 1 p.m. per hour for 20,000 won. Hopefully, the hospitality can be improved.

Very conveniently located near the boardwalk and within walking distance to major food areas such as Black Pork Street or Prime Seafood Alley. The room is nice but definitely shows age. Beddings did not smell very fresh. Perhaps the pillows need to also be washed or changed instead of just changing pillow cases. I booked a Deluxe Sea View room but my assigned room looks out mostly to the jetty and Prime Seafood Alley below. Just a corner of the sea view available.
I bought breakfast for one day to join my friends but found the espresso to be quite week. Nothing compares to the Alan Cafe next door. Food is adequate.
One minor issue, when trying to report to front desk about the in-room safe deposit box not working, perhaps just need batteries replaced, I had to repeat that to multiple clerks due to their limited English. Which is a surprise since this hotel is full of tourists.

Whistlelark honestly is a good hotel.Clean,nearby convenience stores,good working aircon(dk why people are saying theres no airconditioning in the room),friendly and helpful staff that speak English(they let us store our luggage in the office as we arrived early and had to wait for check-in and gladly answered any questions we had),coin laundry and amazing views of the sea(I got the sea facing room) and its genuinely value for money as I booked it at a good rate.Right next to Black Pork street and shopping for all the big brands.
Added benefit to note:Right next to Ocean Suites Hotel which is a popular tour pickup spot and its so much cheaper than booking there
Only thing I didn't like was the balcony,looked quite miserable honestly
Still Highly Reccomended for a good value stay in Jeju!

A "DELUXEl OCEAN VIEW" room at Whistle Lark Hotel in Jeju. When I stepped out onto the terrace, the ocean was indeed out there somewhere, behind a fishing trawler, a port warehouse, and a hill that kindly blocked the rest of the horizon. A view of the harbour, sure. A view of the ocean required imagination.

By the desk stood a hotel lamp. Nice looking and completely useless, since the only outlet within reach was taken by the television, decorated with a little sign: *"TV outlet only. Don't pull it out."* I went down to reception. The gentleman pulled out an extension cord and told me to come back after my walk.

I came back. A different person was standing behind the desk. And just like that, we had come full circle.

There are several hotels along this waterfront. It's worth checking which one actually delivers what you're paying for. Especially if you'd rather not have the sound of the sea drowned out by the rumble of port generators.
