This hotel absolutely sucks.
1. We booked for two people, and they only provide one keycard with no option for a second even if paid for. You cannot put a different card in the slot (power turns off).
2. The provided towels are hilariously small. See photo, hand for scale.
3. The twin room has essentially a queen sized bed frame with two single mattresses lol. See photos how close I had to sleep to my friend.
4. The shower and toilet are facing the bed with a semi translucent glass. You WILL see the silhouette while your friend takes a dump.
Before you tell me “oh you should find a more expensive hotel”… I’ve stayed in small hotels all across Japan and Korea. This takes the top spot of being the worst on my list.
Bonus round (Edit): If you notice in the photo, the toilet and shower have separate doors. Cool. However, the glass divider between the two has a gap underneath so when you take a shower, half of the toilet bowl area will get wet. Enjoy taking a dump with a wet left foot.
The location is convenient, close to a bus stop with routes that go to the Myeongdong area. The nearest subway station is Dongmyo. The rooms are a bit small, but they’re well-equipped with essentials like a hair dryer, soap, shampoo, a shower in the bathroom, and shelves for storing clothes.
I had a great stay at the hotel. The breakfast was enjoyable, and overall, I was very satisfied. I would definitely choose to stay here again.
Loved our stay in this hotel and the location is really great. The rooms are a bit tight especially if you have a lot of stuff, but its really clean and comfortable.
The staffs are very friendly also and the have a good breakfast selection. One thing to note though is that there is no bidet (even a hand held one) in the toilet which made it a bit difficult especially since the shower area is sperated.
Other than that, this hotel is definitely a bang for your buck.
location wise was ok, 5-7 mins walk to dongmyo station even though need to pass by a few ally to get to the hotel.
room was extremely TINY, imagine the same size room for 2 pax but for 3 pax. we are unable to open all luggages or even 2. no privacy for the toliet.
we asked for extra pillow and blanket and was asked to pay extra - $5000won for pillow $10000won for blankets. the blankets had holes on abit of dirt the pillow was not even the same size as what was given in the room.
idk what stars to give the service for, i stayed 5 nights and was told that i was only given 1 DAY of free cleaning. HUH. rubbish had to be cleared by ourselves too, cannot leave ANYTHING behind in the room.
room was not the cleanist as well.
i think its suitable for solo / duo travellers - not recommended for 3 pax
Affordable hotel. They have dormitory types for back-packers and ones with private bathrooms too. There is a laundry and dryer on lobby.
The location is good, 5-minute walk away from a Dongmyo station (which is also an Airport Limo bus stop). 8-minute walk to a train station. A lot of convenient stores nearby.
Staff are friendly and accommodating.
Over-all a go-to stay in Seoul.
The rooms have zero soundproofing. I could hear every word of conversations in the hallway, and it actually woke me up!!
The room amenities do not meet basic standards. A shower cap was not provided, and the towels were unacceptably small, resembling hand towels rather than full-sized bath towels.
Taking time to review, this hotel was walking distance to Dongmyo, Daiso, Olive Young, Mart and nearby restos. Price was good enough, booked this via Agoda around PHP 13.5K which is roughly ₩322,455 since this is book now pay later so the final amount varies depending on the exchange rate.
I just forgot to pic my Standard Double room but the bed was good for 2, space just good for 1. Bath & toilet has separation, no bidet, body and hair soaps were provided, the reason the overall 3 is simoly because of the towel, they don't large towels that typically for the whole body, just the towel good for hair, so basically you'll have 3 towels inside so each day you request a replacement for those towel at the lobby (if you won't want them to enter your room and clean)
Breakfast was already included in my booking, probably because Toyoko Inn has already set a standard for me but their breakfast feels like doesn't that worthy, well it is free bfast and already included on what I pay so still a good catch, but yeah everyday food is the same — they will give you food stubs to be used.
Location is a so-so, you still need to walk around 7 mins going to the nearest bus stops. Dongmyo station is nearby but I didn't try the trains this time.
If you're in tight budget this is one of the alternative options. 😊 I stayed in 801, there's a no smoking signs everywhere but I smelled twice during mh stay that someone is smoking. My window is open because it is hot inside the hotel as there's currently no aircon until April.
