Recenz Hotel

This hotel is luxurious. It was clean, and the staff is nice too. The decorations are superb. The environment is quiet as well. Which I like the most. The rooms are full of supplies. I like to watch their television program even though I do not understand anything, but I am still loving it. The breakfast was fantastic as well. There are a lot of people during breakfast hour. The staff are managing to keep up the foods. Which was impressive. I woke up super early the other day. I am walking around outside the hotel. Which is really chill to me. I will pick this hotel once again if I am visiting Korea again. This hotel deserves a thumbs up.

The hotel is located in Dongdaemun District. There is an MRT station, supermarket, convenience store, Starbucks, Korean restaurant, and burger shop next to the hotel, making it very convenient for tourists. Breakfast is on the second floor, and the food is decent. The rooms are okay, and the price is reasonable, making it a suitable choice for independent travelers.

By the Hour, Not by the Day

As a retired TV reporter, I thought I’d seen every hotel trick in the book — but this place invented a new chapter. I arrived at 1:30 p.m., only to be told: “Yes, your room is clean. Yes, it’s sitting empty. But no, you cannot have it until 3:00… unless you’d like to rent it by the hour for $10.”

Ah, yes. Nothing says “welcome” like being treated as if you’re here for a quick fling rather than a proper stay. Suddenly it dawned on me: maybe management’s true business model is less “hospitality” and more “hourly romance rentals.” It would explain the pricing structure.

The receptionist looked apologetic, like someone forced to explain why water is suddenly $50 a glass. Clearly, she didn’t invent this policy — the masterminds upstairs did. Management, I salute you. You’ve taken the noble art of hotel service and transformed it into a roadside motel sketch.

I suppose I’ll sleep fine, but I’ll be checking the sheets very carefully… not for cleanliness, but for clues about what the last “short-timer” was up to.

I stayed at this hotel for 4 nights with my daughter while on a tour from Vietnam to South Korea. The hotel is old, smells bad, the rooms are quite small, and the faucets are often clogged. The staff don’t speak English and are unfriendly. I recommend staying near Gangnam for a more enjoyable vacation. The breakfast at the Recenz Hotel is terrible and lacks variety. I will never stay at this hotel again.
