There’s a lot to like about Kenny Stay but also some frustrating inconveniences.
Points to consider:
- great location, Olle market is just behind the hotel, which is convenient for shopping, food. Make sure you try the buns at Jeseong Bakery, really delish. Also close to other restaurants nearby given its central location.
- includes free parking. Parking spaces are super tight, and looked like there weren’t many spots until I realized that they also have indoor stacked spaces that you need to insist on getting. You drive to the middle where there’s a revolving lazy Susan-type contraption that positions your car so that you can drive into the ramp, where the automated parking will take your car. I had to insist on parking in that manner since the attendant usually tried to get me to park in one of the tiny spots manually, which is a pain in the neck.
- fully automated reception for checkin/checkout. No one around to answer any questions. This wouldn’t be an issue if they had better instructions and info, like about the parking and the laundry, so you basically have to try to figure everything out yourself.
- room is really hot, you can’t control the temperature. We had to open the windows to air it out, but were afraid to keep it open for long since they had signs of high winds. Sure enough, one of the hotel windows actually broke during our visit, raining shards on the ground so it’s a real risk. Suffer the heat or risk window breaking.
- price point is very good for what you get, but as with everything, it comes at a cost.
Knowing what I know, I’d consider staying somewhere else next time.

As others have mentioned, the main perk of staying at this hotel is the location - It's right by thr Maeil Olle Market which means easy access to a range of local street foods for lunch and dinner and there are also some great shops for souvenirs. There are also a number of bus stops close by for transport. But really these are the only good things about this hotel.

The rooms themselves are incredibly small, I barely had room to open my luggage out. I had so many problems with my room and questions about my stay but there was never anyone at the counter downstairs to talk to. Having to contact front desk via phone is fine but realistically, a lot of the staff's English is quite limited which makes it much harder to communicate. I appreciate that they still tried to help despite the language barrier but to not have anyone at the counter to help is frustrating to say the least.

Also, I didn't realise this until after my stay but you need to pay an additional fee for the hotel staff to make up and clean your room which I found a bit odd as previous hotels I've stayed at had that as an included service. Without realising this, my trash ended up collecting into a huge pile and I was really not happy with this.

Their slogan in the lobby says "Why pay more? Compact but good enough." Honestly in hindsight, I should've just paid more because compact really isn't good enough.

Highly recommended and very reasonably priced! It's a very straightforward setup, self check-in, replace your towels as and when needed, empty your own trash, etc etc. My corner room was compact but lovely clean and well maintained with everything in proper working order. Great breakfast again at reasonable prices. The laundry is very easy to use. No complaints about the hotel at all. Jeju itself, on the other hand...

Quite accessible when you reach Seogwipo main area. Back entrance is so near the Maeil Olle Market.

Bedroom size for silo is ample and spacious. Bed is comfortable, and linens are clean. Hope there is us small table and a seat to eat.

Clean and well maintained.

Easy self check in experience as well.

No concierge for the entirety of our one week stay.

We were not allowed to park our cars at hotel premises before check-in, after check-in you MUST wait for ALL cars to clear the basement parking. Until then you can’t park. You *must* park at the lots opposite and pay.

No daily room cleaning.

Small rooms, booked on agoda for a “nice view” but got a 2nd floor room with censored windows.

No staff actually could communicate in english well. Even though this was not an expectation, I thought it’ll make sense to have one.
