I had an absolutely appalling experience at this hotel due to the extremely rude and unprofessional front desk service. I was shocked to find out that the person who responded to me so terribly was actually the Manager, Kwon (권**지배인). It is truly mind-boggling that someone in a management position could behave this way.
We booked our stay for 3 people and paid the extra person fee in advance. However, upon entering the room, there were only 2 pillows. When I requested an additional pillow, they told me it would cost extra. While I found this policy strict, I chose to understand and accept it.
The real issue began when we requested extra towels because the ones provided were soaked. Instead of assisting a guest, Manager Kwon confronted me aggressively, demanding to know why I was asking for more towels since the room had already been cleaned earlier.
To make matters worse, he went completely over the line, saying things like, "Why are you acting so confident when asking for extra towels?" and insultingly asked, "Do you not know how to speak Korean?"
As a Korean myself, it made me feel incredibly embarrassed to think that international tourists might come to this hotel and receive such disrespectful and xenophobic treatment from the hotel's management. I have never encountered a front desk—let alone a manager—that treats paying guests with such blatant rudeness.
For reference, this insulting incident occurred on June 21st around 11:30 PM. If the upper management or ownership reads this, I strongly urge you to look into Manager Kwon's actions at that specific time and take strict disciplinary action. It is unbelievable that a manager is ruining the hotel's reputation like this.
I will absolutely never return to this place, and I highly recommend others to avoid it. This hotel completely lacks basic hospitality and professional leadership.
If I could rate as a 0 star, I definitely would. Do not stay here. I barely write reviews and I’m here to help you out with my honest one. We booked 4 nights and did not even stay for one. Came to the front of the hotel and they didn’t even have a ramp for our luggage . The stairs weren’t too much to climb so it wasn’t a big deal but when we arrived inside and waited for the reception desk to be free, the lady just stood there not even signaling to us or calling us over. We stood for about 10 minutes before another Korean couple just walked right past us and went up to the counter to which the reception desk lady helped immediately.
The vibes were already off at that point. After check in the walls were horribly stained and dirty, and I thought to myself that if the rooms were nice, I could bare with it. The inside of the room was torn down, broken wooden drawers, stained seats and covers. The view of the beach was a plus but you couldn’t even see it due to how dirty the windows were. It was just horrible and I booked the Wyndham hotel immediately. We grabbed our luggage and went back downstairs and not even 10 minutes had passed I went to check out. Reception desk lady looked like she sees this situation happen all the time and did not even ask us any questions and just stared at us as told her I wanted to leave immediately.
This place is for you if you don’t care about customer service , the dirty sheets, stains and if you want something cheap by the water. I booked this place because of the Instagram reviews hyping it up but of course it was my own fault to trust in influencers. Never coming back.
Do not stay here. Save your money, it's not worth it. This hotel may have been great at one point in the past but now is just run down. We left after one night despite having four booked. Obviously no refund, not even a question as to why we're leaving early.
Only positives of this hotel is the location, right on Gwangalli beach with a center view of the bridge. The hotel has an observation deck on the 21st floor which is nice for pictures but that's where the positivity ends. This is not a 4-star hotel.
The lobby has an abandoned feel to it, any extra amenities like pool or gym are extra charges which you aren't made aware of ahead of time. (We didn't even bother to test them)
Our room was pretty dirty, and had only basic surface level cleaning done and there were questionable gross stains on the upholstery and interior glass of window. Several areas of mold in the bathroom, and the AC didn't work regardless of what you set the thermostat to. Despite being advertised as a king-sized bed we didn't even have a mattress, just two box springs stacked on top of each other.
I find any positive reviews this hotel has gotten unfathomable or must be outdated as that was not our experience at all.
A friend booked this hotel for a 2-night stay. I checked the reviews the day before we booked in and was concerned, but it was too late at this point so we went with it. I was determined to make the most of it.
My partner described the building as an "aging movie star" - it was probably really nice, once. And now it's... fine. Mostly. The rooms were definitely musty smelling, but clean enough and the AC worked. However, some of the lights in the room did not work at all. When we were putting our daughter to bed, the light switch simply wouldn't turn off. We called maintenance, they opened up the fuse box and banged on the box a few times. Took about 30 minutes to resolve.
Be advised: everything is an upcharge. Want to use the pool? It's like $40 per adult. Kids can only go in in the morning. Need an extra towel? $11. Lost your room key? That's a charge too. And no, the staff don't speak English nor do they seem particularly interested in helping.
It was fine, but I definitely would not recommend.
The location and price are the only good things about this hotel. The staff are rude, the £16 cost for the infinity pool is not included in the price, there is no 30% diacount as shown on your key card. The cleaning staff dont actually clean, they staighten the bed but leave half full coffee cups and dirty towells. Also, the staff are rude!! Good for 1 night or 2 because the views are incredible but
help you if you want to stay more thsn 2 nights
