Grand Walkerhill Seoul

This hotel is somewhat far away from Central Seoul, for East side.
Also it's little bit hard to go with public transportation because of it's located on the hilltop.
Fortunately, There are free busses every 15 minute from Gangbyeun subway station to this hotel.
Really brilliant hotel I have ever been to.
In room dining also are excellent.
If you have a chance to visit Seoul, I strongly recommend you to stay here.
You'll never regret it.

Generally this is a very nice, upscale hotel, and I experienced very good service. Yet, I have some complains about the rooms. While they are large, the are in many regards super impractical. Some examples:
- There are almost no light switches, most lights need to be switched from one panel on the far side of the room.
- Half of the bathroom is part of the main room.#
- There are no towel hangers.
- The bathtub is too small to bathe in. Then why not just have a real shower?
- The closet only has hangers, no space to store anything that cannot be hanged.
- There seems to be only a single free power socket in the entire room.
I think I have never before see a hotel room that made so bad use of its space.

Also I disliked the coordination of the breakfast, particularly on busy Sundays. The hotel would admit people to breakfast only at two fixed times. If you come in between, you will be sent away, even if there might be free tables. The food is great, though - although expensive. The restaurant gives you stunning views across southern Seoul.

The location is okay. I was here for a conference, hence did not regularly have to commute to downtown. In comparison to the rest of Seoul, this neighbourhood is relatively quiet. There is a nice hike up some smaller mountain range just behind the hotel.

Having said all that, after having stayed here for almost a week I have to say that I had a really enjoyable stay and I have gotten to like the hotel a lot. It has a lot of nice bars and other hidden gems that make the stay here quite worthwhile. I would definitely come back.

My by far the best and favourite hotel in Seoul!
The hotel is seated on the outskirt of Seoul overlooking the Han River. Also nested on the edges of the wide mountain area, the hotel offers fresh air and forest view too.

The breakfast hall has a great view to this riverside, and the quality of food is incredible. All Walkerhill staff members I interacted with were kind and professional. I'm impressed by the quality of every aspect they deliver.

I enjoyed the nature right and left in this resort. The environment is so cosy, I was finally able to get away from the life's stress, unwind and relax. It's a perfect place for a weekend get away or a short vacation. Definitely coming back next time for my short holiday!

I’ve stayed here twice this year. The hotel is beautiful.

Honestly, this hotel is overpriced for what you get. While the natural setting is nice, that's about the only positive. The staff's hospitality skills are lacking, and it was often difficult to communicate in English. Breakfast at Douglas House is a joke – limited selection, no hot food, just hard-boiled eggs. Don't expect much in the way of service either; there's no 24-hour room service. If you're looking for a relaxing getaway and don't care about anything else, this place might work. But for the price, you can definitely find better.

Overall, my stay was below expectations.
The room felt very small overall. It was not just slightly compact—rather, almost everything, including the bed, bathrobe, and bathtub, seemed to be designed for someone around 150–160 cm in height. For an average adult, this made the entire space quite uncomfortable. In particular, the bathtub was only suitable for a partial soak, and the shower area also felt cramped.

The most problematic part was the bed. There was no prior information about its size, and in reality, it felt closer to a single bed. It was very uncomfortable for two people, and the mattress lacked stability—whenever two people lay down, it would shift easily, making it difficult to get proper rest.

As for positives, the ability to open the window, along with the presence of a humidifier, air purifier, and water purifier, was appreciated. However, beyond that, the overall experience did not justify the price.

The facilities were also disappointing. The sauna requires an additional fee per entry, even on a daily basis, and basic amenities such as a toothbrush and razor were not provided. Even in the room, toothbrushes were only available for purchase. In addition, the size of both the pool and sauna is extremely small compared to the number of rooms. It felt as though these facilities were designed more for annual members rather than hotel guests. When both hotel guests and members overlap, it becomes nearly impossible to use them due to overcrowding.

Despite staying on a weekday, there was no flexibility offered—no early check-in, late check-out, or room upgrade.

Breakfast also had several issues. Although there appeared to be plenty of available seating, we were assigned to a cramped table near the entrance. When we asked about seating further inside, we were told it was “too crowded,” but in reality, there was sufficient space. This response was difficult to understand.
Additionally, there was no fresh-pressed juice available, and even basic ingredients like tomatoes were unavailable when ordering an omelet.

Another point worth mentioning is that while there are many dining options within the property, the pricing feels comparable to Dubai. Considering the overall experience, it raises the question of whether this is truly a place meant for relaxation.
Overall, while the pricing is at a Dubai-level, the actual facilities and overall experience felt closer to a 3–4 star property. The gap between price and quality was significant.
Also, at checkout, an alarm went off in the room exactly at 11 AM, which was quite surprising and uncomfortable, especially while we were preparing to leave.

To be honest, I felt more comfortable at home, and I do not plan to return.
