Arirang Hill Hotel Dongdaemun

This is a nice hotel with good service. Everything is very clean, and the staff at the front desk speak good English and are very helpful. The rooms are clean as well, though they are on the smaller side and feel a bit tight.

The only downside is the lobby décor — it feels somewhat gloomy, with plain brown couches and empty brown bookshelves, which makes the space look unfinished.

Overall, a comfortable stay with great service and cleanliness, but the lobby atmosphere and room size could be improved.

The hotel is located steps from the subway which is very convenient. The rooms are basic but fine. There is breakfast buffet available but most of the food is Korean staples rather than Western breakfast foods. The staff are great, the food is good but might not suit everyone.

Everything excellent! Receptionist was helpful and spoke English. You can pay extra to check-in early, which we did. Bedroom was clean and tidy with good wifi. Loved their breakfast buffet and the lady running it was friendly and welcoming! They also have a laundry room where you can pay to get your clothes washed and a water station near the gym to fill up your bottle. There's also an onsite cafe near the lobby and a porridge restaurant next door which was also handy with a train station within minutes by foot.

My friend and I often watch concerts of our favorite artists in Seoul, and so this time, we decided to try another area in Seoul - and our biggest considerations are two things 1) location to the train station that directly / conveniently connects to KSPO dome and 2) decent bathroom with clear separations between toilet and shower and a smart toilet. This hotel had both ,and it was perfect! The room was spacious enough and very comfortable. And very very near Sungshin Univ station, which is just one train line transfer to the KSPO train line. There were lots of food and shopping options too around. The airport limousine bus stop is just around the corner, and the metro bus stop is just right in front of the hotel. Staff are very friendly too and some can speak good English. Will book this again in case we watch a concert again in Seoul someday soon!

Mr. Kim noticed we were a bit tired from travel and immediately offered water, helped with our bags, and took a minute to share thoughtful tips about the area that made our trip smoother from day one.

Later, he followed up to make sure everything felt perfect, and it did. He remembered our preferences, greeted us by name, and somehow anticipated what we needed before we even asked. It’s rare to feel both like a valued guest and like family, but Mr. Kim manages that balance with grace.

Leadership shows in the little things: the way his team mirrors his warmth, the way he checks in without hovering, the way he treats every question like it matters. Because of Mr. Kim, our stay felt less like a hotel visit and more like a home base—safe, comfortable, and genuinely welcoming.

Staying here was honestly one of the best decisions we made. The location is very convenient — bus stops are just a few minutes away by foot, and it’s also close to the train station, so getting around was really easy.

There are a lot of food places nearby, and the room was very clean, spacious, and comfortable. The bed was comfy, and housekeeping did a great job cleaning the room every day, replacing towels, and making sure all the bathroom supplies were always complete.

The staff were very helpful and kind throughout our stay. Water pressure was good too. You can’t control the room temperature, but since it was winter, the room temperature was fine. It could get a bit warm sometimes, but it didn’t really bother me.

Overall, we had a great stay and would definitely recommend this place. Would stay here again!
